Just to lmention that Jimmy Makoulis was of Cypriot origin, born in Larnaca, the fisrt ever Cypriot to take part in ESC.His greatest hit in the 70s was Tsingana Kardia (the greek version of the San Remo winner Il cuore e uno zingaro). In the early 80s he also tried to represent Cyprus in ESC but with no luck.

The reason there are only 43 songs, is that this was the maximum no. permitted for this contest, so some French entries have already been eliminated elsewhere
So please help if you can. Thanks in advance.

The truth is that he was 9 years older (81),but doesn't matter! He was very famous 30 years ago! He sang a greek version of the 1971 grand-prix (Monaco),with the title MIA KARDIA HTYPA (A heart is beating),and in 1990 tried to represent Greece in the ESC with the song MIA NYHTA SAN KI APOPSE (A night like this one) and he came 5th!!! REST IN PEACE,DEAR JIMMY!!!
Condoleances to those close to him.
"Denke daran, ich bin immer bei Dir".
Rest in peace, Jimmy !
Wow.
I actually can't remember his esc number, but I do know it feels terrible to die without a certain reason.
Sending my condolences.
