Marinella, Helena, Tamta
Greek Euroladies win Life & Style awards
Marinella, la grand damme of the Greek music scene, was the first ever ambassadress of the country in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with Krassi, thalassa ke t'agori mou (Sea, wine and my boyfriend). She's been the undisputed queen of stage for the past 50 years and the only one who can combine folk music, rembetiko, jazz, tango with such success. Marinella said that an award always makes you feel good. She wished to thank her fans who have been the force behind her dreams, her thoughts and the love of her life, her songs.
Helena Paparizou, received the Singer of the year award. In an interview in the Life and Style magazine Helena was asked what success means to her. She said that success is the recognition of your work by the people, the moment when you see someone sing your song on a night club dancing floor or in the solidarity of his car.
Tamta received the Newcomer of the year award. She said that in a profession where success means being accepted by the audience, the Life and Style readers' award is very encouraging for a young artist like herself. She admitted that everything has changed completely around her but she has remained the same. She is very well aware of many a young artists who had some success at first and then faded into oblivion, and she seems determined not to join them by constantly improving herself.
One more -even remotely- Eurovision related lady received a Life and Style award. Fotini Darra, who sang at the opening of the contest in Athens, received the International Greek Artist of the year award.
You can read more about the awards and the artists here. (external link in Greek).

Fotini Dara should be in this article too! She won an award. She kicked off ESC 2006.

Actually, there are acouple more clips but I wont post. The latest ones from my first post about it shows her current and 'perminent' hair style--different than before.
Personally, I think Elena looked hot at ESC 2006 singing My Number One in white.
Also in the My Number One video clip with her straight hair there.
lol. this is before she had it as a 'perminate' look, but here she is again in "The light in our souls" clip in some parts:

BTW. Did anyone see Tamta at the awards? She looked....well better I should say. I will try to get some pictures...
Regarding Elena's hair style, the "straight look" seems to be the style in Greece right now.....She has had it like that for a while now
Watch Elena like that in her last 3 video clips, and at the European Border Breakers.

ANA S,Marinella is one of the most famous greek singers, with a great-50 years-carreer!!! Miss Stella Floras, the title of the 1st ever greek entry is KRASSI,THALASSA KAI TO AGORI MOU (without...LIGO)!!!
Marinella is a great Lady, pure class and her songs are classic and timeless in Greece. Agree definetely with the Elena Paparizou choice, she keeps releasing great songs all the time that top the charts , and has aquired international recognition. About Tamta, I think it is more of a good-will award for her, she has made some few hits here, but I wouldn't go as far as to award her with the best Newcomer Artist of the year, with so many better new artists entering the music scene. Well, Life and Style magazine sees it differently I guess.
ANA S
Marinella was Greece's first Eurovision singer in 1974 when we entered, and also a Greek Legend.
Marianella I love to listen to her songs!Old greek songs are just marvellous!
