Greece: Eurostars update
Helena hits France
Helena Paparizou , the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest winner, will be launching a repackaged version of her album, The game of love, in France. This new special edition will include the Dalida 1967 hit Le temps des fleurs and the French version of Teardrops. At the same time, the repackaged edition of Helena's platinum Yparchei logos album will be released in Greece containing 4 new songs. Last week saw the release of Mazi sou (With you) a TV series soundtrack which includes the title song by Helena.

Anna in New York and in the studio.
New dates have been added to Anna Vissi's April North American tour. Anna will be performing in New York City and Los Angeles as well. Click here to see the full tour schedule.
Two years after releasing her latest album Nylon, Anna Vissi enters the studio again to record a new album that will be released in September 2007. A new cd single as well as a new video clip are expected in the summer though.
Sakis Rouvas goes platinum once more
The end of 2006 saw the release of Yparchi agapi edo, Sakis' latest album which very soon gained platinum status. On 28 April, in a special party in Thessaloniki, the artist will receive the platinum record. Sakis' new film Alter ego will be released in Greece in mid May. You can watch the trailer of Alter ego by clicking here. (once in the page click under Sakis' photograph where it says videos)
Michalis records Tonight
Michalis Chatzigiannis (Cyprus 1998) has teamed up with Reamonn to record a new version of Tonight. Michalis and Rea Garvey, the Reamonn lead singer, recorded Tonight in Greek and English. Tonight has been a massive hit in Greece, remaining in the International charts for an impressive 16 weeks (13 of them consecutively). It is quite possible that Reamonn will perform together with Michalis in his concert on May 5, at the Appolo Hammersmith Theatre in London. The new song will probably be included in the repackaged version of Filoi kai Echthri, Michalis' latest double platinum album. It will certainly be included in the repackaged edition of Wish, the latest album by the popular German group.

My dear spider man I can understand you.
All the greeks are upset abouit. I know it very well. AND I know this is very very specioul day for u. But U said we organised best olyimpic ever. Itc could be partly true But yesterday everybody watched waht happend. And NOW can u answer this. It was such a hospitable thing
sonsoul wide
Ok we didnt play well last night.
But we 're the European Champions, we organised the best Olympics ever, we are the most beloved touristic destination, our land's beauty is in a class of its own, we have been a member of EU for almost 3 decades, we have a great and glorious history and we have so many other things as a country to boast for, so we dont consider this defeat as a catastrophy. I mean we didnt have a burning desire for it, as if we wanted to prove something.
You, on the contrary, seemed to have needed so much this victory, considering all these ironic tv spots, the frantic reactions of the turkish press etc. I guess it can be explained in psycholohgical terms - maybe an effort to gap a defficiency or something...
greece 1 turkey 4 hehehehehehe
Good luck!!!!!!!
Sakis, Elena and Ana was the best.
Greece entered top 10, although my top 5 no.
My top 5:
1 Spain
2 Denmark
3 Switzerland
4 Cyprus
5 Slovenia
The last time I remember reading something about his concert, they said it would be postponed for the 24 feb (although they never did confirm it)
Does anyone here know any updates about Sakis' London concert as I have heard NOTHING about it since the ESC Today article was published last year.
Cheers
Moldie
Dude there are too many good songs (or relatively good songs)
I forgot about Moldova, Finland and Germany- they too deserve to be in the top 10!
@ Bregde
ESCtoday have an article on the even tonight- but by the time you see this, you probably will have read it!
@ Kelan
I think Spain or Serbia might win (the loser coming second), and Greece will come in at 5th Position.
3rd will be Armenia, 4th Bealrus, then 6th Cyprus, 7th Romania, 8th Bosnia, 9th Switzerland, and 10th FYR Macedonia
well, agitation for greece and sweeden in this page is obvious...
well the winner will be Belarus or Spain, with Greece coming in at 7th position!
hey Kelan
You said Greece would get in to the top 10 in the finals, but what about the winner and the other 8 places in the finals???
Hey Kush
I think that you are right and that Denmark could be a surprise on the night!
I thought they would come 13th, but I still believe Hungary has a better chance to get to the finals
Hey Kelan
I agree mate with some of your choices- and some of them in the exact position!
Belarus (same as you)
Serbia (same as you)
Switzerland (same as you)
Macedonia (same as you)
Iceland (one place higher)
Moldova (four places higher)
Slovenia (two places lower)
Cyprus (same as you)
Malta (same as you)
Turkey (two places higher)
Bulgaria (same as you)
Denmark (I did not think Hungary has a chance to get to 7th place, but Denmark does)
Hey Guys I tried not to be biased, and this is how I think the top 10 will be in the semis (regardless of if I like the song or not)
1. Belarus 2. Sebia 3. Switzerland 4. FYR Macedonia 5. Slovenia 6. Iceland 7. Hungary 8. Cyprus 9. Malta 10. Moldova
(And 11. Bulgaria 12. Turkey)
(I missed out a word!)
The Greek representatives tend to DO a lot better after Eurovision, especially on the international stage. None of the British representatives have got a career after Eurovision, even if they did do well! (E.g. Imaani - she came 2nd in 1998 and then after that I don't even know what happen to her)
All of the Greek Artists are brilliant!
But I only remember three of them at Eurovision (not Michalis at ESC) and remember all of them except Helena at the Closing Ceremony at the Athens 2004 Games.
And Sarbel will be another great Greek star at Eurovision-
Good Luck Sarbel -Top 10 for sure!
Great news from Greece artists ! Keep up the successes Elena, Sakis, Anna and Mixalis
