Mariana Popova

[UPD] Bulgarian rehearsal and conference finished

Moments ago, Mariana Popova from Bulgaria finished her first rehearsal and at this moment, she's giving a press conference, being joined by the complete Bulgarian team, including the 28-year old gay transvestite Azis.

During the rehearsal, when Mariana surprised the present audience with her good voice at this early time of the day, the true abilities of the moving set became clear. Other's, by the way, were less enthusiastic about the voice. "Her voice is simply horrible", a group of fans agreed.

At the press conference, a journalist asked why Mariana picked this particular ballad to submit for the Bulgarian national final. "This song represents me, my heart, my soul. Any other song just wouldn't be me", she said.

Azis, who has a fair solo part in the song, also got some questions from the present press. "There are only a few people who can sing in this ethnic style", he explained. The Head of Delegation added that this type of music comes from a southern part of Bulgaria.

Traditionally, Mariana also performed a part of her Eurovision Song Contest entry Let me cry, meanwhile carrying a huge six-meter Bulgarian flag.

if my memory is ok, in the last semifinal we receive 10 points from Cyprus ! :)

Maybe I am wrong, but we get some point from Greece, Serbia, Turkey, Moldova, Romania or maybe not. I remember that Moldova was for sure.

Thanks for the sweet posts. I wish all the best to Cyprus, Greeece, Serbia, Romania, Moldova, Turkey, FYRO Macedonia and all others.

With or without final, with or without some votes, friendship is all over the contest.

Volim vas, Sagapo poli

Didier Verleyen: where and when we (Bulgaria) act or do some bad things to homosexual person ?

Are you sure, that you're OK ? Or maybe you read some news for some eastern country who punish homosexual right and your logic say that: that happen in every eastern country ? :)

Get real please.

@St Nicholas of Bari, well when the Bulgarian presenter said Macedonia instead of Former (20 years later...) ... of Macedonia it didn't bother me, and I am Greek, plus I know she didn't do it to spite us, Bulgaria ended up giving Greece maximum 12 points and 10 points to Cyprus, which was a bad song.
Anyway, good luck to Bulgaria, Greece and Fyr Macedonia, jas te ljubam Makedonija i da, sum od Grcija.

@Nikolaos Papas
Klise to stoma sou re malaka, you sound like a psycho. I am embarrased that I share the same surname as you! You better not be from Thessaloniki. Anyway people don't listen to him, us Greeks aren't like him at all.

What are all these references to the sexuality of Aziz - what relevance does it have to the performance. This is a sensational song from Bulgaria. I love it's sensuality and passion, and the wailing is magical to my ears. They have a terrible draw, but if justice prevails it will qualify.

When I heard the beginning of that song, I was like wow...It's gonna be great! And suddenly it turns into a ho-rrible boom boom rythm that never ends.

As bad as Moldova, Romania and Belarus. All in the same bag of crap!

One question; do they have "equality" ???

What? In what way does Slovenia or Israel have a horrible record on gay rights??

Didier Verleyen [34432]
Thu 11 May 2006 14:44:10

Will someone please explain me; why these countries that have a horrible record when it comes to gay-rights, always feel the need to send gay people to the eurovision song contest ??? (Israel, Slovenia and now Bulgaria)
I would have less of a problem with it if it would just be people, but transvestites and transsexuals....come on. They are reducing us gay people to some sort of a circus act!!

maybe bulgaria are trying to do something like what DANA INTERNATIONAL did in 1998.
it got the votes then, maybe bulgaria think their on to a winner?

any way where is bulgaria?
joking! i know its next to greece, and they came in for the first time, last year. but realistically, in the semis votes will tend to go the countries around them like turkey (who i hope to see in the finals) and FYR Macedonia (who i can probably survive without, on the basis of their songs in the last 2 years). Although i have to admit i really like the macedonia song in 2002, which got 12pts from romania, and it was certainly better than the croatian song, which got 19pts more.
