France: Fairytale to be released in the country

French label M6 Interactions has just signed a contract to release this year's winning song "Fairytale" on a physical CD single.

More than probably, this means that Alexander Rybak's song will often be broadcast on M6, as the label belongs to the private TV channel.

M6 Interactions already gave commercial attention to Eurovision entries as they published the 2007 Ukrainian entry by Verka Serduchka Dancing lasha tumbai and last year's Spanish entry by Rodolfo, Baila el chiki chiki. Both singles reached good positions in the sales list.

The last Norwegian singer to reach France was probably Caroline Krüger in the 80s.

Rybak will be a one-hit wonder for sure. Not in Norway maybe, but everywhere else.
But he did create some positive attention around ESC with that one hit, so I´m happy. :)

Well this is good news, but I am a little skeptic when I read that they gave attention to Verka and Rodolfo before him, lol.

@Mark
You're back :S How sweet of your classmates to do that for you! :) That's a moment I wish I had witnessed. ;)

Although I can not stand Rybak and his cheap song, it is nice to see a Eurovision song to do well in the charts, my whole english class sang it when I walked through the door - I was not impressed ... But he does seem to be like a one hit-wonder in most countries, but I doubt a Eurovision song will ever beat The Brotherhood's of Man's record.

However, I know hope even more people will take interest in ESC now, and even more songs do better in charts next year. At least Rybak is showing that ESC isn't as bad as it is set out to be, although I don't think Rybak is anything special personally.

That's cool, cause France music marked is a marked norwegian artists seldom makes it in. :D

Funny that the two other entries M6 label interacted with (Verka Sedurka and Rodolfo) was a bit of "circus acts" to me (which Alexander and Fairytale are not, hehe) :P I do hope Fairytale will be a hit in France though. And it would be even cooler if they could release his whole album - "Fairytales". The song "Funny little world" has a really summer-hit-touch to it. I think they should release that song too (or the whole album).

"Fairytale" - THE BIGGEST EUROVISION HIT of the DECADE for sure:-D And it is from NORWAY - wow it makes me so proud to be a Norwegian this year :) Finally we do well.. and when we do it we do it with a BLAST. Norway - the country with the most last place finishes in the contests history and now also the country with one of the BIGGEST hits ever from this competition:-)
