David Fernandez returns!

Spain: Rodolfo Chikilicuatre back?

David Fernandez aka Rodolfo Chikilicuatre will be back on the scene after a short break. David Fernandez known to everyrone as Rodolfo Chikilicuatre, the 2008 Spanish Eurovision representative will be seen in the Spanish Television series Pelotas which will be aired next year on TVE1. Vertele.com reports that Rodolfo will be starring in this forthcoming television series along with Paz Padilla, Belen Lopez and Maria Boto. Pelotas will be a comedy series depicting the lives of a group of friends from Hospitalet and their passion for soccer.

David will be one of the main actors in the show. He will be playing the role of a soccer coach/trainer. Many famous Spanish television actors will be taking part in the series, which is scheduled to be aired on national Spanish tv channel TVE1 early next year. The serial will be co-produced by TVE and EL Terrat, and will be directed by Jose Carbacho.

Rodolfo Chikilicuatre shot to fame in Spain early this year when he appeared at the Buenafuente late night show aired on La Sexta, thus later competing at the Spanish Eurovision 2008 national final and winning the golden ticket to represent Spain in Belgrade with the song  Baila el chiki chiki. Rodolfo enjoyed massive media and television coverage building up to the Eurovision Song Contest final in Spain. After the relatively poor results of the Spanish entry in Belgrade it was decided to terminate with the character of Rodolfo Chikilicuatre.

In greece thatz the rank of this year's songs' publicity(i think i'm correct)

1.Greece(obviously) & Spain (every single cell rings with that+numerous cover versions)
3.Armenia(huge greek success)
4.Norway(#1 for weeks in 3 Salonica's radio stations)
5.Ukraine(Kontopoulos)
6.France(theme song for tv station+backround music in ads)
7.Bulgaria
8.Russia
9.Cyprus
10.Albania(1 million albanians in greece)
11.Israel & San Marino(the only non-greek style songs been heard in radio)

As u see greex loved rodolfo...!

The act was funny, the pink-dressed dancer was great. I laughed a lot.

Sending a crap song was the only one way to make Europe look at Spain. Since the semifinals entered, none voted for Spain. Year by year, spanish people saw how people voted for eastern Europe, and Spain never got enough votes to get a good position. Sending crap, spanish TV finished 16th. Well done... If it's the only way you look and vote for Spain, hope Rodolfo back.

After 21 acts I was frankly getting quite bored (this being the first time I have ever watched Eurovision), but I sat through them all, because I wanted to make sure I didn't miss this one, and it was worth it. Go Rodolfo!

WAS LIKE SPITTING IN THE EYE OF THE EBU

Maybe that explains the crap decisions made and the lack of vision by the EBU...

I don't see all the fuss about this song, so, some of you didn't like it... You don't have to. Heaven knows, plenty of songs I didn't like as well. But I remember people calling for this, and other "joke" entries to be banned in the past, and that would be a terrible thing if they got their way. I personally believe a country should be allowed to send any act they want (within the rules currently set out by the EBU). But I'm quite sure we wont see Rodolfo back in the ESC anyway.

Dunno what to say...
I hate him, but that night I danced and singed the song with non-spot during the perfomance. I laughed a lot...
I hope this year we will be more level-headed and we'll send a better song.
Hope!! lol

At first I thought "Baila el chiki chiki" was one of the worst songs in the contest but on the night I found Rodolfo's performance entertaining. The lady in the pink dress was hilarious :D

I still don't understand all the negative reactions about that entry, compared to a lot others, this was very entertaining. The melody was very catchy and next to the FRench entry, the only song that sold outside it's own country.... So well done. I loved it.So spitting in the face of EBU, I don't think so. There are other entries and defenitely nationalities that spit into the face of EBU and all it's members by cheating...
