Hadise and TRT plan Eurovision win for Turkey
The president of TRT İbrahim Şahin explained that; "Hadise is free to decide language, costume and all kinds of everything in this project. TRT hopes to win Eurovision Song Contest again in 2009 but we wont put too much pressure on Hadise to win of course. We rely on her and we know that she will make her best efforts for the competition". The president explained that his personal choice is to compete in Turkish and using Turkish instruments in the song but TRTs only condition to Hadise is to use Turkish instruments in the song.
Hadise seemed very happy during meeting. She explained her pride and happiness about representing Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest to the media. She said that she desire to sing the song English and Turkish. And she added that she know French and she will have some surprises in the song.
Journalists asked about the reaction in Belgian media and people and the ambiance of Eurovision there. She replied that Belgium is not interested in the Eurovision Song Contest like they are in Turkey. Because of bad degrees in contest she thinks. She said that Belgium media was asking her why she would not participate for Belgium. Her answer was that she had already won some awards for Belgium and now it's time to concentrate on winning for Turkey.

according to winter wonder land hadise is not turkish because she is born in belgium.
LOL. I didn't say that. I said she's Belgian because she's born in Belgium. Notice the difference.
most immigrants come to europe for work whether you like this fact or not.
WTH does this have to do with anything? People migrate for work, because of war, etc. This is everywhere, not only Europe. But what is the relevance of this? If you're born in the UK you're hardly an immigrant, are you? You haven't migrated from anywhere.
however once a person lives in a country for over 30years that also becomes your home aswell.
Should be even more of the case when you're born somewhere and have never lived anywhere else...
and FYI Turks have lived in cyprus for centuries it was there INTENTION to be there...
Fabulous. So why are you 4th generation "Turkish Cypriots" still in the UK if you have no intention of being there? Cut the crap. I don't think you realise how stupid you sound.
they have lived in cyprus longer than white people have in the USA.
Yeah, so? In a couple of generations your family will move to the Netherlands and you'll refer to yourself as British Turkish Cypriots. But not Dutch, oh no.
Really. It's ridiculous. You're British. The end.
@ Cyprus is gona win the eurovision. according to winter wonder land hadise is not turkish because she is born in belgium.
To winterwonderland most immigrants come to europe for work whether you like this fact or not. however once a person lives in a country for over 30years that also becomes your home aswell. and FYI Turks have lived in cyprus for centuries it was there INTENTION to be there... they have lived in cyprus longer than white people have in the USA.
lol, what has this nationality (british, turkish etc..) got to do with esc news item!.....
@Ozi TurkishCypiot: Don't be inconsistent. Turks didn't come to Cyprus to become Cypriots either. Yet they are Turkish Cypriots since they're ethnically Turkish and born in Cyprus. You don't become British. Those who migrate to the UK and not British. But those born and raised there ARE British. The UK is a multicultural society, meaning that people can hold on to their culture heritage and still be British. If they don't feel British then that is failed integration. And I can wonder how the 4th generation is still living there when they "just came to work." You are in no way a Turkish Cypriot. According to your logic if you moved to the Netherlands you and your family would be British Turkish Cypriots. Because we can't forget to mention where all of our ancestors have lived, now can we?
winter wonderland Turks came to the UK to work... not to intergrate or become british. The same with Greek Cypriots. And for your information there is a successful integration here, one does not need to give up their roots inorder to integrate, London is a multi-cultural place!
wow I always wanted Hadise to represent Turkey, im so excited I beleive she will be very successful. I hope she go with a song like 'stir me up' or 'a good kiss'.
satin aka "w s" aka etc etc etc etc........
Carry on your schizophrenic attack on me and others prove it on here that you are mentally ill
@Ozi TurkishCypiot:
Doesn't make it less stupid though.
And third or fourth generation? That is failed integration at its best.
'Cyprus is gonna win ESC next year' aka 'Benzin Mushmush' aka 'Crystal Ball' aka 'Hero' etc etc etc
You just talkin' too much LMAO
Keep up the good work you disgusting Turkish TROLL! LOL
Thanks Jacob
Cheers from Istanbul
:-)
@ Andonis.. just read your message now thanks
winter wonderland i totally get what your saying but in London there are 2nd 3rd and 4th generations (born in the uk) who seen themselves as T.Cypriots... we have a VERY big community here in north london maybe thats why we keep to these roots so strongly.
I'm always looking forward to see what Turkey sends. They've had so many nice surprises in this decade.
@Mina Carnation: Some people might not mind. But many will. Trust me on that.
@Stockholm calling:
Again, that's not quite the same since she's never represented Sweden.
Mina
Same here. Helena had our 12 points (twice) when she competed for Greece
Has she said that she's interested in competing as a singer? :/ Problem is that she'd have problems with a lot of Greeks if she competed for Sweden.
You are wrong. If Helena competed for Sweden, Sweden would have our 12 pts for sure. We love Helena, noone would say a word if she decided to compete for Sweden!
@Stockholm calling: She might just be saying that though. I don't think she will either for the simply fact that she's already won Eurovision too. But we'll see. And yes, I think she was born in Gothenburg but maybe she lives in Stockholm now.
Winter Wonderland
In the interview I posted Anders Lundin asks Helena if she would like to compete for Sweden and she answers "yes, absolutely"
I doubt that she will, though.
I think her family lives near Gothenburg but she had a flat in Stockholm before.
@Ozi TurkishCypiot:
Put it this way. In Cyprus those who want to clarify they have Turkish roots call themselves Turkish Cypriots. So why would you, born and raised in the UK, call yourself a Turkish Cypriot? o_O
It's like having one of those people in Cyprus referring to themselves as being Turkish only and not taking into account the country they were born and raised in.
Remember that the Turks were quite recently (well a few hundreds years ago) immigrants to Cyprus.
Get the irony?
@Ozi TurkishCypiot:
Are you kidding? It's my favourite pastime.
Most people don't realise what they are. I'm telling you it is impossible to be a Turkish Cypriot unless you're ethnically Turkish and living in Cyprus. But you won't believe me. Just because your parents are from Cyprus doesn't mean you are.
You're a British Turk if you want to highlight your ethnicity or a British of Cypriot descent if you want to highlight your family's roots. I prefer the second one since it's not as ethno-centric.
@Stockholm calling: Why is Stockholm her home and not Gothenburg though? Her family lives in Stockholm? She is very close to her roots and she loves Greece but there's nothing like the home of your childhood.
And I still assume she means as a song writer or as a host. Has she said that she's interested in competing as a singer? :/ Problem is that she'd have problems with a lot of Greeks if she competed for Sweden. And she's not stupid - she realises this. It's always dangerous to represent two countries... Besides, it's risky for a former winner to enter Eurovision again anyway. I don't see it happening and I don't know whether I'd want her too.
'Cyprus is gonna win ESC next year' aka 'King Kong' aka 'Hasta la Vista' etc etc etc
Still stalking in esctoday.com for 6th year in a row
you miserable TROLL? You bet! It's your "life". LOL
Muireanne
Thanks. Yes, it's an old song but it's in my Swedish top 5
Andonis .
Yes, Helena lives with her family in Sweden half of the year
@ stockholm calling
you are right! I saw on a greek interview that Helena wants to participate someday for Sweden because Sweden gave so much to her and her career began there....
and helena dont live permantly in Greece! in wintertime she is most of the time living in sweden in summer in
Thumbs up to you... and fingers crossed you'll be among the winners then...
I really didn't know the first one... it is a very old song (the oldest of the 5 I even think)
Muireanne
I already did
(The first song was easy for me since it's Swedish)
Stockholm,
Lol... don't tell me the result of that rebus... play the game and send them the answer.
Maybe you're right... dunno... could't say what the 1st and 5th song were.
Winter Wonderland:
Have you watched this interview (in Swedish) with Helena where she calls Stockholm "home" and says that she would like to compete for Sweden
