Two Eurovision stars battle for award
Dima Vs Shiri in MTV awards
Both Dima Bilan and Shiri Maimon won their national categories earlier this year as reported by esctoday.com. Since then, the 20 regional winners have been part of a lengthy voting process as europe voted for the best five. Shiri has also recently opened a new English website showcasing her debut English language album. You can visit it here.
It had already been announced that Shiri would become the first Israeli artist to perform live at the MTV Europe Music Awards on November 6th, she may yet he handed the crown of Europe's Favourite Act, and would be Israel's first MTV award winner. Dima Bilan however, has won the title of Best Russian Act for three years in a row and is seen as a strong challenger, but the hot favourite remains Leona Lewis, who has become a global superstar since winning the United Kingdom's X Factor show in 2006.
The MTV Europe Music Awards take place on 6th November live from Liverpool, United Kingdom.

btw Hadise was among the finalists of best turkish act and she couldn't beat Emre Aydin!

Although I think that Dima is a jerk, he's is still a good singer and I like his songs. But, I hope Shiri will make it

What Dima all or not realised, I don't have a clue as I live in Western Europe. And if his 6 albums are all as good as this cheap tacky little thing he did at Eurovision, I don't think that we in the "West" did not miss a lot. What I tried to say is that Leona is known all over the world and Dima, just in Eastern Europe... That's the difference. If Dima would win, the reaction of the West would be, "who the f... is that guy ?", am I correct or not ?

I can't stand the MTV Europe Awards they only ever award American and British artists. And any from outisde these two countires are never shown performing live. These awards should be for European music only.

I totally agree with you as to who is the better singer of these two, but I seriously wonder about your judgement as to your question, quoted above.
So, what did Dima do?
Dima has released 6 albums since 2003, and is one of the worlds best selling artists during the past five years. He's had SEVERAL huge no 1 hits all over Eastern Europe, an area in which I don't believe Leona is quite as popular. Leona's single was mainly a no 1 hit in the weatern world, so I don't really see the difference there.
I've been quite critical of Dima's voice ever since he first showed up in ESC, I don't find him to be such a great performer either, but claiming that he hasn't done anything is a bit too much, I think.
Leona has got to win!
