A film on Serge Gainsbourg

France : Sara Forestier will be France Gall

In about two months time, beginning of 2009, a film about Serge Gainsbourg will be shot in France, under the direction of Joann Sfar, the working title being Gainsbourg, vie hroque.

As previously reported in a news on a Parisian exhibition about Gainsbourg, the lyricist and composer worked with a lot of singers, mostly women. Those who have played a big part in the man’s career will appear in the movie. Not them personally of course, but today’s actresses. Many names have been rumoured for half a year now and some are now confirmed

Together with Eric Elmosnino (playing Gainsbourg), former top model Laetitia Casta will be Brigitte Bardot, Lou Doillon (Jane Birkin’s daughter, Birkin being Gainsbourg’s big love) should play her mother’s role,  and France Gall will be... Sara Forestier. The 22 years-old lady is not that famous in France. But she has already starred in about 15 movies and she received the “César” (French Oscar) for the best female newcomer, back in 2005.Will the Eurovision victory be mentioned or, still better, recreated ?

I must agree with Michael UK! I heard "Poupée de cire, poupée de son" this summer and I was so impressed! It is a masterpiece of a song, the lyrics are so well written and the music is incredibly catchy! C'est parfait!!! :D
