National final to be held
Andorra prepares for Eurovision 2009!
RTVA will be inviting both composers and singers to enter the competition. Singers will be able to send demos with a maximum of 3 songs, and will be required to send in at least one song in Catalan. Whilst composers are invited to send in more than one song complying with the rules set by the Andorran television i.e. the song must not exceed 3 minutes in length and must not be neither released or commercialized before.
Singers and composers will be required to send in a presentation letter along with a CV with video or audio demos to RTVA, in order to compete at the Andorran Eurovision national final. The Andorran national broadcaster will be opening the subsmission of applications for the 2009 Andorrran Eurovision entry on Friday the 24th of October, with the deadline set on the 31st of December 2008.
An expert jury will be choosing the performer or performers along the 3 best songs to compete at the 2009 Andorran Eurovision national final. The decision will be entirely in the hands of the Andorran audience who will choose the song via SMS, that will represent them at the Eurovision Song Contest next May, in Moscow . Stay tuned to esctoday.com for the latest news on the Andorran national selection.
Andorra has yet to reach the Eurovision Song Contest final, coming closest when they finished in 12th place in the 2007 semi final with Anonymous's Salvem el món entry. Earlier this year, Gisela finished in 16th place in the first semi final with Cassanova.

It would be a miracle if Andorra would pass the Semi in Moscow... but I still hope for it. Bona sort aquest any, andorrans!
@ Nathan Stella
Great song indeed... Thanks for the link...
maximiliano
She was their backing singer in 2005
I would love to see Anabel Conde representing Andorra!!!
@Ben Gray:
Hahaha yeah the same for me.
It starts like a ballad and then, all of a sudden, it sweeps you off your feet!
I didn't expect it and was happily surprised!
Nathan Stella:
Wow, what a great song. The upbeat part took me by surprise. Andorra would do really well with a song like that, I think.
As for the performance of Casanova, I don't think Gisela was out of tune, but the vocals were still not great in another way, plus the choreography was bland and the dress... well...
Good luck Andorra, one of my favourite esc countries!
I hope for a good preselection and a webcast! (and world peace, ofc
)
Bona sort la meva Andorra! Good luck my Andorra!
I would love to see Andorra in the final! Perhaps 2009 will be their year!
My favourite Andorran entry was "Sense tu" by Jennifer. The fact that it achieved the last position in the semi-final was a big, big injustice and a sad proof that some countries seem always to be outsiders at ESC whatever song they send!
I hope the national selection will be good. To be honest, I don't really like internal selections - they're not democratic and they leave people with no choice. Good luck, Andorra!

I AM at home.

What a stupid comment... Me on the other hand, I never can understand the people who critizise the passion of the others for this topic... if you aren't interested, why do you come to this site at all?
Concerning Andorra: Send Marian van de Wal again - she had such a style... Her entry was marvellous, the performance absolutely awesome...
Miguel D: Funny comment. Go home!
I always find it interesting when I read the reactions and see some people "praying" for this country to do well or that country to make it to the final. I often wonder if they also pray for truly important matters like world peace, an end to hunger, an end to poverty, good health, etc.
Andorra should send something like this!:

Good luck !
I was so disappointed that Andorra didn't qualify in 2007. I voted several times for "Salvem el món"
Hopefully Anonymous will be back in ESC.
I pray that Andorra make the final in Moscow. Imagine if Andorra won - everyone gathering in one tiny place would be quite cosy!
Good Luck Andorra!
Good luck!
I hope for some folk again!
Gisela WAS in tune but her English accent was awful!
One of her backing singers was having some real tuning issues though...
With the exception of 2008, all Andorran songs were very good. The 2007 result is for me the ultimate proof that some countries have no chance at all, to even reach a modest placing. That song had everything, but still it had no chance.
if gisela hadve sung nicely, they could have qualified
i really hope they will one day
Good luck - but no more metallic queen-bees, please!
Great news!
Andorra have sent some really good and often really under-rated entries
Their 2004 entry was good, not a qualified but a good solid song, their 2005 is their weakest for me, 2006 was really good, 2007 should have qualified, and 2008 was well . . . . let down by the wardrobe co-ordinators
But anyway good luck to a pretty awesome country!
Good luck to Andorra!!!
I hope they will choose something great again. All Andorran entry were really good in my opinion.
This a very long application period. I suppose Andorra will be one of the last countries to select their entry.
Good luck Andorra!
