A career spanning 50 years
Portugal: Antnio Calvrio celebrates 70th birthay
António Calvário sang the song Oração in Copehagen at the 1964 Eurovision Song Contest. It wasn't a promising start for the country by ending in the last place with nil points, alongside other three countries. Nevertheless, this didnt't prevent the singer from becoming one of the biggest artists in the country at the time. He was followed by legions of fans wherever he went. The singer stated to a Portuguese newspaper, Diário de Notícias, that "the participation at Festival da Canção is a very important landmark in my career".
The list of albums, songs, films and TV shows he took part is endless. The artist is celebrating his golden anniversary with the release of a double CD with many of his hits and a book of memoirs.

Oração: a great melody and a great vocalist. One of the most underrated songs in ESC history.
Actually, António Calvário is a landmark on our cultural history along with other artists of his time. Congratulations for his anniversary and career.
Nice. The reason why "Oracao" failed to get any points is because of the voting system - the jury didn't have much points to give and it's not getting a "null" today and in 1964.
