Mostovi
Alenka Gotar presents new duet on Slovenska Popevka
Alenka Gotar,the only artist who managed to get Slovenia to the final so far with Cvet z juga in 2007, performed her brand- new song Mostovi (Bridges), a duet with Sons, a promising Slovenian band from Portoroz. Their performance was very well received as Alenka sung- as usual - with all her heart and soul. The fusion of an opera singer with a rock band worked extremely well, and the chemistry on stage was more than noticeable.
Mostovi already is Alenka's fourth single after Cvet z juga, Zenska iz soli, Odidi and Nek to voli kao ja, an emotional song in Croatian, which Alenka wrote for this year's Split festival. She was the only Slovenian representative (and the first one after 20 years) to perform among many Croatian stars like Doris Dragovic, Danijela and Antonija Sola.
Alenka has been quite active in developping her music career. A remarkable fact is also that the lyrics to all her songs except Cvet z juga were written by herself. Currently she is working on her first album which is expected to be released already this year.

The more i hear Slovenia 2007, the more i like it and i appreciate it. i thin it was a very good entry which eas a bit underrated back then. i hpe Alena will go for a second try sometime soon
Wonderful as always; Alenka is definitely the best Eurovisive singer of last years. It's not fair that due to the ancient voting system she didn't achieve a TOP 10 position with Cvet z juga.
Anzej Dezan won Slovenska popevka 2008 (big prize of the jury) and the prize as best performer. His song Sopek maka was also awarded for the best lyrics.
In the televote, the prize was for Marko Vozelj and second place for Maja Slatinsek (Ema 04, 06, Irish selection 08).
Best newcomer Tina Gacnik (Ema 08).

I was just thinking, the way Alenka was moving her hand, was very diva-ish, "talk to the hand cos the face ain't listening!" 
I just loved this woman on Eurovision 2007. She is just normal person with great voice.
Stage performance was well thought. "Talking with a hand". 
Alenka is one of the best singers ESC ever had. She's FAABBBBB!!!
Sorry to say, I wasn't very keen on "Cvet z juga" even though I love opera.

Because Alenka is great diva with many fans and at least one very devoted follower (guess who) while Anzej is just an usurper of the throne 'rightfully' belonging to another great Slovenian diva Sasa Lendero.

Personally I am not a massive fan of her 2007 song (play count stands at 2 lol) but I can see why people like it and I do think it deserved more

I am Slovenian and I wasn't really impressed with "Mostovi". The song wansn't anything special.

Great singer. One of the biggest injustices of the Eurovision together with Marlain (Cyprus 1999), Selma (Iceland 2005), Kate Ryan (Belgium 2006), Evridiki (Cyprus 2007) and Charlotte Perrelli (Sweden 2008).
Alenka, you are awesome.....well done!! Especially "Nek te voli kao ja" is great. Good luck for further career!

Cvet z juga was a worthy finalist but underrated in the final.
Cvet Z Juga was fantastic. One of my 2007 favourties.
