Gisela in Disney Concert in Madrid
Disney Channel Spain will be holding a special concert on the 19th of September in Madrid at the Teatro Circo Price to celebrate the launch of the channel on TDT (Terrestrial Digital Television). The show will kick off at 18:15 CET. Gisela will be singing the song Grita si me necesitas from the Disney Channel series Kim Possible. This will be an exclusive private show organized by Disney Channel, tickets will be alloted to fans via a special contest on the official website of the channel here.
Gisela hails from Barcelona, she shot to fame in Spain back in 2001 when she participated in the Operación Triunfo talent show and went on to win the win the Viña del Mar Song Contest later on. She has worked on several Disney musicals and projects in the past. Her more recent appearance was at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest where she represented the Principality of Andorra with the song Casanova, thus achieving a dissapointing result and not qualifying for the final.

I read on the Belgian site that Andorra confirmed for Russia next year....
I like her but in Eurovision she was definitely not good, and that dress... Anyway, I hope that Andorra will stay in ESC and return to sing in Catalan more than one sentence.
I had high hopes for Gisella - 'Casanova' was a great piece of Schlager, catchy and easy to sing along to. Its just a shame that everything went a bit 'Gemini/'Fabrizio Faniello' with the singing on the night!
Everything that could go wrong, went wrong on the Andorese entry. Gisela's voice was dreadful, she looked awfull, and top of the bill Casanova was an oldfashioned piece of schlager crap. So correct mix for disaster.
If "Casanova" hadn't been a mix of "On again off again", "Samba sambero" and "Take me to your heaven" ......
what is everybody's problem with her outfit!
Personally I didn't have a problem with her outfit..actually a singing kettle is always useful in a modern kitchen

Interesting idea - I would like to see that! If it were me I would have kept almost everything the same (I
the pop-up garden) but I would have improved the vocals a tiny bit and made the dancers more attractive!
But that's just me...
And if you think my idea for Andorra was impressive (jokin' lol
) I should tell you about Bulgaria! I envisioned a ribbon swing from the ceiling for Joanna or maybe a Silvia Night-style breakaway door or maybe even a rotating disc à la Thérèse @ MF07!!! Definitely an outfit change and maybe even a fan of feathers for the first part of the lyrics and an awesome black-out to reveal glow-in-the-dark breakdancers during the cool synthy bit (but just showing the light harp they used in Belgrade would be a start as RTS managed to miss that!)
lol euro sheep!! It seems you have some pretty good ideas for staging eurovision songs!
I'm always thinking how to stage songs better etc, for example this year, Kalomira should have ditched the book, dressed in a completely white clean dress, had simpler backing projections and had male dancers surrounding her in black business suits wearing bowler hats covering their faces!!!

(btw i love campinos lol!
)

Soetkin was a walking campino!!!!

And you were right, the performance really needed a man on stage - with 5 females, it made the song seem a bit spinster-ish!
I was thinking that she should have had a tall, dark and handsome guy come out of the darkness and give her a rose when she launched into the one line in Andorran - now that would have been Eurovision!

Aaaah I love her outfit aswell, but I don't think it did her any favours, it seems me (and you) are the only ones who likes the Belgian outfit aswell!
Maybe she should have had 2 female backing singers, and 3 male dancers, because I think the theme of the song needed male dancers.
Auu, I love Gisela! She's so sweet & cute!
I loved her dress at eurovision, I just HATED that stupid thing on her head. She looked like a bug. And I agree the backing singers/dancers weren't very strong. But to be honest it was such a difficult year I think she had no chance in qualifying, the song wasnt memorable enough (I almost typed rememberable hehe..)
Without intending to be mean, I think that her Eurovision performance was probably one of the worst ones ever after Dj Bobo in 2007!
Bad vocals, bad presentation, bad overall performance and an ... in inexplicable outfit... She said in an interview that she intended to be "Mother Earth" with that outfit... That is a very funny explanation but what does that have to do with her song? Well, the song wasn't good either. A pity because before Gisela, Andorra has never disappointed me.
About "Tu voz se apagara": It was the best song in the Spanish 2007 selection, I love it but not with Gisela as performer.
She had an awful song,
She had an awful perormance
She had an awful geadgear
Sha sang awful
Emberassing !
Aww, she is so cute!!! Disney
It's such a shame she didn't qualify but what is everybody's problem with her outfit!? At least it was memorable and I don't think people didn't vote for because she was "dressed badly"
In fact I watched the DVD the other day and I think the problem came when she started ad-lib'ing at the end...after that the melody of the song went to hell because the backing dancers mics were too quiet! And the rest is history...
I wouldn't have changed her kettle and hat for the world!!!
Jonny K
I don't think male singers would have done any good because all the harmonies are too high and you can clearly hear in the recording that Gisela's backing is female! But male dancers, now that is interesting
If she hadn't dressed as a kettle, had male backing singers/dancers with a really strong routine, she would have qualified easily this year
I still believe she should have represented Spain in 2007 with "Tu voz se apagara"...the performance was really amazing.
This year I was really disappointed :-(
Thank God, her funny outfit won't be wasted after all.....
