Thank God!!!...No semi's..great!!!.
But we'll pick the best "happy-go-lucky" song as always. I wish for a great ballad sung by an even greater artist like Stig Rossen or Jesper Lundgaard. Or Infernal with some disco...
But that will never happen i'm afraid.
we'll see.......
Some good news!
often a small selection process generates perhpas a good song for eurovision but mostly ends up with no success on the charts afterwards..
the greeks entries are good examples..
i find it nice t have along preselection show to get down to the entry, but i find it a bit peculiar that some countries which have this kind of long and big preselection like Sweden and Iceland doesn't always select a very good or impressive entry.
Jonny
Thank God SVT is not getting rid of the semis
I think this new format sounds interesting, I can't wait ....
The quality of the Danish songs are not good enough. I think that is why the semi won't be. Many Danish artists are affraid ESC could ruin their career. That is why the best stay away. Unfortunately
Don't compare to Sweden. There is actually a huge difference even though only few kilometers away...
Stockholm
Have you checked oikotimes? Theres an article about how the MF format will change next year. But don't worry, they're not getting rid of the semi-finals!!
LOL Zohar.
Perhaps this isn't so bad after all. There were 32 songs in the Swedish NF and still many people think that we made the wrong choice. Anyway, I hope that SVT won't scrap our semi-finals
OMG - what will DR do for the other 364 days of the year ?
Seriously, that's the way a NF should be. One nice night with 10 finalists and not too much cowcrap around it. Ofcoarse if SVT was to scrap the MF semis, we wouldn't even have fan demonstrations in Stockholm, we'de just have a mass suicide :-) je je je
Although I don't think this is such a bad thing, I mean massive selections don't always produce better songs. I mean, look at Spain this year!!
And smaller selections can produce really great songs, Greece this year.
As long as some good songs are submitted, the size of the selection isn't an issue imo.
Denmark would have done very well had there been a Jury vote.
I would love to see ALPHABEAT go for denmark
was suprised they got to final this year ,it was a midioco song ,nothing special, lets hope for better next year
Well sometimes ppl can get bored with semi-finals ... see Iceland and its historic path for choosing a song xD ... It's better like that
So they are using a similar format to what Estonia used in 2007 and 2008? I hope it brings them better entries than it brought us. Because every time I heard the song we sent this year, my ears started to fume... I wish Denmark good luck with this selection process!
Good news, good job from Denmark! 1 Night, 1 final, that's all we need, isn't it? Better than the elaborate way with semi-finales, wildcards and that kind of things...
werent the danish representatives chosen by the public already? can see why they would do this to save cash though.
well the reason is obvious, didnt DR have some economical issues?
So cutting the semis will save them a lot of money
I don't see anything wrong with that selection process, we do it the same way. We also vote through SMS and jury.
Bad news, I think. But you're probably right, Jonny.
Well most of the best songs were eliminated at the semifinal stage in Denmark this year...!
OK. I wonder why this is?
Maybe the semi's don't get many viewers so they scrapped them . . . . . I don't know?
