Ani Lorak in Athens for the Mad Awards
Ani Lorak will be one of the surprise guests in this year's Mad Video Music Awards which will take place tonight at 20.00 CET in Athens. Ani will present one of the lucky winners with their award.
Many Eurostars are nominated this year as well for their work in 2007 and 2008. Helena Paparizou (2005), Sakis Rouvas (2004), Michalis Chatzigiannis (Cyprus 1998) are nominated in various categories, as well as many Eurovision hopefuls such as Tamta (NF 07), Peggy Zina (NF 2002) and Kostas Martakis (NF 2008) who will perform a duet with Bulgarian Desislava.
More information on the 2008 Mad Awards can be found here (in Greek). Live streaming is available only for Greek readers, through an sms to a particular telephone company who sponsors the event.

I said they are usually remixes or English covers. Of course there are always some singers who do not have imagination with that subject and just want to promote their new single like Rouvas. As for Vandi, to many Greeks Destiny would be considered a special MAD song since it is in English, with a foreing band, and they never heard it before. Vandi is just now going to release destiny to the Greek public with the repackaging of her new album. (Many MAD artists release their remixes, English covers, and other MAD songs on their CD's as bonus's later on)

This is the MAD VMA's remember. The performances are always either remixes or strange covers. That's why Zina covered "2 hearts". She said she would not put that music on her cd's though. BTW, Peggy Zina won "Fashion Icon of the year" at the MAD VMA's for Trexe.
Elena was great too. Her style of clothes fit well with her stage performance that had an ocean and sailor theme.

the clip is really good. I remember I liked it very much when I had first seen it. But all this glitter on stage just didn't look as good to me as it did in the clip.

I know about Tamta, but I'm sure Martakis will represent Greece next year, that's why I was surprised with Lina's comment.

Mihalis Chatzigiannis (THE BEST), Helena Paparizou (GREAT,
as usual, but her choice in clothes awful) whereas
Tamta (ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!),
Peggy Zina (NICE, but her new repertoire does not suit her
nor does her recent sense of fashion?) and many others,
but above all ... the one, the only SAKIS 
ROUVAS!!!!!!

in my opinion there is no way she is 29 r 30, i am sure she is over 35, in fact i 'm sure, or at least to me it she seems very older and i d nt think this has t do a lot with her make up. Anyway, I think she is nice and she quite impressed me with the shady-lady entry, i mean the whole package, i think i wish she would have won the contest, although my favurites for the first place were Greece, Norway and frm the non qualifiers Bulgaria, a song which I hear everyday since. And although i am no fan of Koostas Martakis i think with a very good song and a lot of work on stage(he has ne year) he could work magic on stage and win. Anyway, I think Greece will hold a very strong National Final next year.
