10 finalists selected

JESC - Belarus: National semi-final...the result

On June 1 the First TV Channel and "Belarus-TV" broadcasted semifinal of the national junior song contest "Song for Eurovision". 10 participants out of the 20 were selected into by final by the professional jury. In accordance to professionals only the best performers managed to qualify into the final. Representatives of all regions of Belarus will take part in the final gala-concert for the first time. This way all Belarusians will be able to support performers from their own regions.

The following performers will take part in the final concert: 

  • Diana Gromova "Ta-ru-ram (Gomel)
  • Diana Guzino "Number one" (Grodno)
  • Cyril Yermakov "I Sing it for You" (Minsk)
  • Nikita Zhurovich "Dreaming" (Lelchitsy, Gomel region)
  • Serafima Kuznetsova "Don’t Give Up" (Vitebsk)
  • Alina Moshchenko "Time" (Mogilev)
  • Darya Nadina, Karina Zhukovich, Alina Molosh (trio) "Heart of Belarus" (Minsk; Baranovichi, Brest district and Ivatsevichi, Brest district)
  • Darya Soroko "So-Da-Super Star" (Minsk)
  • Mikhail Sosunov "Ginny" (Brest)
  • Alexandra Stelmakh "Young RNB" (Grodno).

The final of the national song contest "Song for Eurovision" will be held this September as a gala-concert. Until that time the participants will be able to adjust their performing considering remarks of the professional jury.

"The kids represented very exciting performances. However, TV broadcasting always gives the opportunity to pay special attention at details that need adjustment," - says executive producer of "LAD" TV Channel Ludmila Borodina. – "Some participants will be recommended to change scene actions, some will have to work more over arranging and some will have to change costumes… I am sure that the participants will be able to surprise us in September."

The TV audience will be able to vote for the finalists together with the professional jury after the gala-concert. As the result of the voting the winner of the national contest will be selected. The winner will represent Belarus at the international junior song contest "Eurovision-2008" that will be held in Limassol (Cyprus).

Apparently Belarus have put in a bid to host the 2009 JESC, and I hope they get it because the take JESC sooooooooo seriously!!!! I mean, JESC is one of the cheesiest, most cringeworthy TV programme ever, and they still love it in Belarus!!! Its crazy :)
