Norway: Eurovision back to golden age
The viewing figures are one of the highest for a television show in Norway and follows the huge success of Maria's song in the national chart. Along with superstar Mira Craig, who wrote the song, the duo managed to create a big buzz, and you have to go back to the 1980s and Bobbysock's win to find a time where the local media gave Eurovision so much attention in the country.
Maria is also pleased with the Russian victory, saying that Dima Bilan desverved to come first. "It's a good song and an impressive act on stage" she told VG.

Well done. Great voice, good performance, utelry boring and uninteresting song. Portugal was ligh years ahead of this for something that was based on the same fundamentals i.e. voice, performance. Unfortunatley for Portugal they were just after the break that alwasy affects any country.
I'm proud that Norway did so well. Poor old Sweden, some of the transvestites and drag queens from earlier years looked far better than she did - well never mind. Hopefully she and Carola will never ever return and we can get back to up and coming stars in MF

Even though I am not from Norway, I am so proud of Maria and Mira. "Hold On Be Strong" really deserved to close out the songs, the lyrics give me so much strength and Maria is beautiful as well as incredibly talented.
All my love to Norway, you have given western Europe hope!!!

I was so pissed off when Maria got the boot of norwegian idol very early a few years ago and left a very average-guy winning the title. she truly was the star of that season back then!
