Day 6: Iceland, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine
Song 1. Iceland - Euroband - This is my life
This afternoon Iceland have given another energetic and charismatic performance of This is my life in the second technical rehearsal of the Eurovision Song Contest semi final. It is obvious watching the Icelandic couple that they are having the time of their lives on the stage. Both Fridrik and Regina give very strong vocals which match each other perfectly. The Icelandic couple make full use of each camera and use this to enhance the presentation of the song. Today Regina is sporting large pink earrings to match their pink and black outfits. This is an excellent show opener for the second semi final: this number will certainly get the crowd on their feet next Thursday.
Song 2: Sweden - Charlotte Perrelli - Hero
Charlotte seemed to having some sound problems today as her vocals are uncharacteristically inconsistent and not as strong as we have come to expect from the former Eurovision Song Contest winner. Despite this it remains a glamorous and exciting routine from Charlotte and her five backing singers.
Song 3 - Turkey - Mor ve Ötesi - Deli
Turkey has polished up their rocky number for today and the guitarists seem to be moving about more and even jumping in true rock´n´roll style. The charismatic lead singer is captured well on camera and the soft rock sounds balance today's offerings well. the charterers display on the screens behind the band depict entertainers form the 16th, 17th and 18th century.
Song 4: Ukraine - Ani Lorak - Shady Lady
This is another spectacular performance from Ani Lorak on the Eurovision Song Contest stage. She makes probably the most effective use of props and lighting to enhance her song than any other contestant in this year´s contest. Add to this her considerable vocal talent and natural beauty, one would expect that she will be a major contender on the 24th of May.

I'm so excited about Turkey, it's going to be fantastic!
ani's dress seems like sibel tüzün 2006
OMG< GO UKRAINE!!! wow, She is amazing, the total package: the song, the voice, the looks, the choreography of back up dancers is amazing, xept she can't dance that good herself. RUSSIA will be pissed, cos UKRAINE has become like a major force in EUROVISION, ruslana, verka n now ANI. Im russian, but I love that song, she reminds me a bit of Helena-sexy dress, awesum song, dancers, EVERYTHING!!! I hope she wins
Ani Lorak is great!
She, Sirusho from Armenia and Kalomira from Greece are on my winners list!
Good luck Ukraine
12 points from Armenia

Resisting the subject of my passion
Angered and shrunken

Did I fall right into the spot?
Resisting, resisting, resisting...
Raise me
Don’t make me cry
Where is the love
You’re so proud of
Raise me
Don’t make me cry
Don’t waste my time
With fake dreams
Sougt, theowner of my soul

Did I fall right into the spot?
Resisting, resisting, resisting...

Super video...
@GALANDAR------ ALSO I LOVE SO MUCH AZERBAIJAN.
Ukraine is very very good, i like this song more and more! Ani looks awesome. On the contrary, Sweden doesn't look as attractive as it was on the swedish national final.
Serkan_Turkey,
Before Azerbaijan joined ESC this year, regardles to the song of the turkish entries, Turkey used to be the favourite for the majority of azerbaijanies. And even now i am proud to say that you are worth to win ESC 2008. Love you Turkey!
Thank you very much for such kind words about azerbaijani entry. I really appreciate that :-)
@GALANDAR------ I THINK THAT THE SONG OF AZERI IS BETTER.'DAY AFTER DAY' IS QUALITY ROCK-OPERA SONG AND THEN CONGRULATIONS AZERBAIJAN.ITS VERY SUCCESFUL CHOISE FOR FIRST ENTRY.
TURKEY is so great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 12 points from AZERBAIJAN
Turkey rocks ! I just love it !!!
UNFORTUNATELY, MY COUNTRY HAS ORDINARY ROCK SONG AND I DONT LIKE IT.BUT IT WILL BE QUALIFY.
@night elf : the choreographer is Fokas Evangilinos ! Choreographer of Helena Paparizou(05) and opening of Athens 2006 ! He is just brilliant
ukraine and russia (if they made it to the finals) will split soviet votes , also maybe Ukraine has a decent show , its not the winner ,the highest they can get is 4th place. Also the ballad with the best finish , i think it will be Polland , the game is between Greece -Sweden or Belgium -also Estonia maybe a top5 finisher -as crazy as it sounds, we ll see, good luck to everybody ( personally i like Denmark). Also i have to say that strong favorites like Russia and Switzerland already collapsed.
TURKEY IS BEST ALL TIME PLEASE VOTE FOR US TO WIN
Turkey rocks the best song !!!
Pretty sure now that Ukraine will win. So much more contemporary then Sweden. Still not too fond of the "shady lady"-part, but I think this will appeal to the whole of Europe. And she looks stunning in that dress. Clever choreography too.
Teodoros, 2 dancers also sing. So there's actually 6 people on stage
Four favourites of the second semifinal and possibly for the final, but I can say that only two of them will be able to qualify for the final. I am feeling in this way dont know why. And my prediction is:
Ukraine and Turkey
I hope Sweden can handle it too but remembering 2006 Belgium Je t'adore...
4 dancers - Ani Lorak and 2? back vocals?
why i hear two voices male-female?
7 people on stage is a disqualification i think
i think it is obvious now that because of a huge difference in lives, ukraine will outshine sweden absolutely (same clothes too).. turkey and iceland are still absolutely great, but sweden though really good is the most common and disappointing live.. charlotte beware.. Selma back in 2005 also stayed stuck in the semifinals!
Ani didn't show her voice in full force because it was all about technical side today. Nice to see that they finally learnt what to do and they do everything right. I'm pleased and I can't wait for the dress rehearsals.
Iceland look very impressive - just wish they'd tone down some of the exaggerated hand movements.
Sweden is also very stong, but it seems to lack a certain 'je ne sais qois'.
I thought Turkey was a bit disappointing, and the creepy puppets in the background are just weird.
Ukraine is also very strong, but the overall performance seems a bit over-the-top to me, including the over-exaggerated head jerking.
Iceland deffo the strongest of these four for me!
Definitely wouldn't be surprised if Ani Lorak won it all!! Impressed!
