Portugal: English version of Senhora Do Mar now out
Portugal will be competing in the 2nd Eurovision Song Contest Semi Final on May 22nd in Belgrade. This year the Portuguese viewers chose Vania Fernandes to represent the nation with her powerful voice at the Eurovision Song Contest. Portugal has been competing at the Eurovision Song Contest since 1964 and has never won the competion yet.

People, Andrej Babic is in Serbia with the team too... He also appeared in the press conference... Those things were just rumors...
The entire team is in Serbia... Vania, Luis, Joana, Evelyne, Jonas, Jessica, Carlos Coelho and Andrej Babic.

not bad, but it is amazing about one thing: normally experience showed us thet people having regular voices singing in portuguese have generelly great voices singing in english. In the case of vania, she really things beautifully in english, but it sounds even more powerfull and dramatic singing in portuguese. I sincerely hope she sings it only in our language even if we don't win. For the first time in all these years my country's song is really ( and by far) my favourite! If we don't win, than we should put the eurosong contest aside 'cause it is realy a joke ( and it is enough to see that more and more people don't pay any kind of attention to this contest...
Muitas felicidades para a Vânia e o grupo de amigos que fazem muitíssimo bem os/as backvocals. Se a Vânia de cidir cantar alguma parte da canção em inglês, deverá melhorar a dicção. Como madeirense de gema e excelente aluna de canto que foi, saberá certamente pronunciar e articular as palavras melhor. Não sei se algum dos portamentos e pequenos glissandos que são típicos no fado podem ter corespondência literal em inglês. creio que não. Se quiser receber elogios genuíno na esfera internacional com uma intervenção em inglês, o inglês só convencerá se existir da sua parte, uma concomitante sintonização para a esfera da balada, e isso a Vãnia sabe fazer muito bem, já a vimos a TRIUNFAR a cantar brilhantemente em inglês. Se não, cante em Português, porque tal como no ano passado aconteceu com a cantora da Sérvia, vai arrepiar a Europa toda. mas se quiser convencer os fans mais «inglesados», anglicanize para ficar melhor. Simply great! Well, i really think it's better that she sings the portuguese version on the contest, but I also love the english one. she has a great accent and her voice is powerfull and, at the same time, smooth! Portugal deserves to win the ESC this year! i hope it will be Lisbon 2009. Kisses 4 everyone!

The English version is very good and Vania's voice is beautiful. I was not a big fan of Portugal before but now I've changed my mind.

Where is Andrej Babic? I assume in Croatia. Is really that expensive to get to Belgrade from Croatia? Come on! It's only a few kilometres away, that's a lame excuse from RTP!

Vania is wonderful and deserves victory more than anyone else but the behaviour of RTP is inexcusable!

Please guys, Andrei is chilling in Croatia, he may visit Belgrade in the last days or is just staying in Croatia at his apartment having a private party with friends (just like me) and watching ESC in a huge screen with high definition!
I really did not mean to offend anybody, or to raise any unsubstantial accousations.
I am just saying what I heard.
Dont you think that it is weird for a composer who adores ESC, and has already composed 3 different entries for 3 different countries, not to be there??
There must have been some kind of quarrel with RTP.

And even though I want Portugal to win sooo badly and I love the country soo much, I have to say shame on RTP for not inviting Andrej in the team!
After all, without Andrej they would have nothing! He is responsible for the best Portuguese song ever and RTP is not even thankful for it!
