Yes her sining sucks here (hope she`ll do better, much better 2morrow) but the over all act looks better than in the rehearsals... all she needs now is her voice 2 make it
"It's just a little strange that he sings in so good English, but talks with such a strong accent..."
I just thought that too (about Sebastien Tellier)
I wish good luck to every country in the first SF. But my favourites whom i am waiting to qualify are: Azerbaijan and Greece. Good luck Samir & Elnur and Kalomoira!
Does anybody actually know the part Timbaland actually played with the Russian song? I know he apparantly "blessed" it...so does that mean the Russians slipped him a few quid just to listen to it? It's suspicious in its ambiguity.
Europe's number one: Nico & Vlad Mirita, Pe-o margine de lume, ROMANIA

My prediction for the first semifinal (not in order):
1.- Russia
2.- Greece
3.- Armenia
4.- Azerbaijan
5.- Ireland
6.- Netherlands
7.- Norway
8.- Romania
9.- Israel
10.- Bosnia & Herzegovina
Personally, I'd change Azerbaijan, Ireland, Romania and Bosnia by Andorra, San Marino, Belgium and Moldova, but being realistic I think these last four have little chances.
I just watched France's rehearsal at eurovision.tv. Not bad at all, even if every singer certainly needs time to get used to the stage and so.
It's just a little strange that he sings in so good English, but talks with such a strong accent...
@ Alex Amos
That isn't exactly true that they can't do anything. They could use limits on phone lines so that a certain household can only vote a maximum of 5 times or just bring back juries.
You are basically saying it is fine that geography and demographics are what dictate the results rather than actual song quality. Some competition we will be watching then....
Shady Lady is amazing at stage. I didnt like the song much but this incredible show is enuf to give a vote. I felt irritated about Ukraine shows in past however this one is shockingly amazing. Shady Lady performed smartly and unique. Bravo Ukraine. Unique show i felt as same as when the Turkey was on stage at 2003 for the 2008 Ukraine.

Nico & Vlad received a song as a gift
Yesterday night, the Romanian delegation was surprised by Sirusho, the Armenian participant, who performed a song of her own, composed especially for Nico & Vlad! The Armenian artist told them that she wrote the song in Paris, impressed by the voices of the two Romanians, and she insisted on singing it to them on that occasion. "Tears came into my eyes when I heard her! It was an extremely touching moment, absolutely unique and surprising!", said Vlad after listening to the song of Sirusho. In the same spirit of fair-play, the tenor thanked "from the bottom of my heart" to the Armenian singer

I don't get the fuzz about Ukrains song?
I think she is singing in english, but I can't seperate the words =( she should be singing in her native language instead imo =).
SO IMHO, Armenia is far more pleasent to listen to than Ukraine
after all this i think the best to do is:
1 VOTE FOR SPAIN
2 BOOO FOR BELGIQUE
3 THE REST IS THE SAME,DO WHAT YOU WANT
Guys, for the semifinals, only the countries that participate will vote + 2 of big4 right????
Portugal will do well this year. They more than anyone else deserve to win. Wonderful song together with THE VOICE of the 2008 Eurovision, should gather enough votes to make it no ONE!
Hoepefully that is what will happen!
Winner must be with good ballad, with pop song elements and rock song with act elements like
DAY AFTER DAY!
Well, a friend in Spain has now confirmed to me that TVE Internacional will indeed broadcast the Eurovison Song Contest (final), so I'll get to watch it live on TV albeit 3 o'clock in the morning. For the semis I'm going to have to rely on the live streams from eurovision.tv, and they will be using Octoshape so that looks very promising too! So now it's all set for an exciting Eurovision week - even here in Manila.
