Eurovision Song Contest Belgrade 2008 Serbia

The highlights

Day 3: Press Conferences

The beginning of the third day at the Eurovision Press Centre was the busiest one so far. First four participants of the 2nd semifinal, all considered favorites, held their rehearsals and press conferences.

Iceland - We love Eurovision music too much

Iceland held the first rehearsal of the day. The head of Icelandic delegation was very enthusiastic about their first rehearsal - It was quite good. We love the stage!
The Euroband members Fridrik and Regina said they loved eurovision music so much that that they're having problems writing an album with original music only. However they don't think that being one of the most popular Eurovision tribute bands gives them any advantages in the contest, they believe all the participants have the same chance.
They also promised to throw a party soon, for the press and fans in Belgrade.

Sweden - Dobar dan, ja sam Šarlot

This is how Charlote of Sweden greeted a very enthusiastic crowd of journalists.
It's a mix of pop music. We very much focus on the Swedish market. We separate Melodiefestivalen from Eurovision; we don't even mention Eurovision until the final - said the Swedish Head of Delegation when asked to explain the popularity that Swedish national final has in his country.
Charlotte is very enthusiastic about being in the Eurovision Song Contest again. She said that a lot has happened since her last appearance. Her favorites to this year's contest are Ukraine, Serbia and Switzerland.

Turkey - It's a song and not a piece of literature

The Turkish delegation was the third to hold the press conference today. Most of the questions were regarding their choice of language.
"It's a song and not a piece of literature. English is not a must; we will try to do our best here and to do that in our mother tongue feels great to be honest!" - said the Mor ve Otesi lead singer. "Our song is about growing up, being an individual and a bit crazy."

We know what we are doing. People in Turkey take Eurovision very seriously, so it's a good idea to send one of the best rock bands.... It's a post modern carnival where all the cultures meet. Being on TV show and being on a carnival is always as exciting as being in a competition.

Ukraine - I want to be a real shady lady and make everyone crazy

Ani Lorak had the most impressive entrance to the press conference room we have seen so far. It received standing ovations from most of the journalists and fans.
It's a confluence of passion and harmony - said the Ukranian Head of Delegation describing the concept behind this year's Ukrainian entry.

MOR VE ÖTESİ-(CRAZY) TURKEY

Sounght, the owner of my soul
Did I fall fight into the spot?
Resisting the subject of my passion
Angered and shrunken
Sounght, the owner of my soul
Did I fall right into the spot?
Resisting, resisting, resisting...
Raise me
Don’t make me cry
Where is the love
You’re so proud of
Raise me
Don’t make me cry
Don’t waste my time
With fake dreams
Sougt, theowner of my soul
Did I fall right into the spot?
Resisting, the subject of my passion
Angered and shrunken
Soungt, the owner of my soul
Did I fall right into the spot?
Resisting, resisting, resisting...
Raise me
Don’t make me cry
Where is the love
You’re so proud of
Raise me
Don’t deceive me
With fak dereams
Half sane, half crazy I am
Sane all around me, crazy, one side of me
Everbady else sane, crazy, only me
Crazy, only me...
Raise me
Don’t make me cry
Where is the love
You’re so proud of
Raise me
Don’t make me cry
Don’t waste my time
With fake dreams

Super video...
