@ Jonny K
Apologies...I could've sworn Scotland had more people but you're right.

And, Scotland has roughly the same amount of people as Ireland anyway, not twice as many! Ireland has 4.5million and Scotland has about 5million.
I think by saying Scotland would be too small, they probably mean politically. Alot of Scots probably feel that being independant wouldn't give Scotland the political powers that the UK has. Also Scotland would lose alot of funding if it split from the UK, Scots recieve the most social funding per person, than any other country in the UK.
My relatives do know what they're talking about!!!
- london calling
Yeah, I know that, but my comment was just what my family said!
@ Jonny K
er, Scotland has twice the number of people than Ireland! And is bigger and richer than half the countries in ESC!
and also to add to the discussion on the snp etc, the support for snp is growing as each month passes by. labour is getting worse, not just in scotland but in westminster too. last that was reported in papers was that the english are also for seperation, not as many scots wanted that at the time but i think with another poll about independance it would be a different result. anyways thats my bit. roll on eurovision week i cannae wait!!
i gonna be at that party. got my tickets last week!! should be great as theres a bar in there too.

Yeah, half of my family is Scottish and they say they would hate independance. They say "Scotland is too small without the UK", and they hate the SNP!
your still spellin incorrectly hero its INDEPENDENCE
I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its so funny that some people are arguing about independance in a artical about a ESC party in Scotland!!
So 100% sad!
Vote the ESC hero!
@ The Real Zingo star:

lol @ hero and real hero its like the blind leading the blind, i find it so funny that someone corrects someone elses spelling and then spells the word incorrectly, the word you are trying and failing to spell is INDEPENDENT!
I agree

Scots will never vote independance!

Vote Sweden!
@ the real hero
Thats OK!!
@Mike
In what way are my politics vile? Certainly much more positive than your comparing the Scottish government to the BNP - how utterly repugnant!
And, while I didn't start this thread, I feel i am perfectly at liberty to comment on it.
Independence is about restoring Scotland's place in the world...at the EU, UN, Eurovision and the Olympics. It's about allowing Scotland to achieve its full potential rather than as the unhappy junior partner in a marriage. Sometimes a divorce is is best for both parties. England would be rid of Gordon Brown!!
The SNP won the election...not by much admittedly, but it has shown that they CAN win an election...something Labour never thought possible. When it comes to the referendum, it will be close, but there are people out there who will vote for independence who would never vote SNP.
For me, this will be my last comment on this topic...I look forward to Scotland joining the Eurovision family. We have great music in this little country and we'd love to share it with the rest of Europe.
I not idea!
I don't get the SNP, they'd rather have 2 relatively powerless countries (Scotland / the rest of UK) than the UK that has quite alot of influence etc
That sounds stupid to me, and i think having different countries in one union is really cool, makes the UK more interesting i think.
i think the SNp are manipulating Scots into wanting independence
BUT sticking to the topic, do you think this party will have Eurovision acts performing aswell? coz the impression i get is that its just a cinema and some bars to drink in
i have to say the UK seems to be going a bit eurovision-mad this year =D
@ the real hero
why are you talking to your self?
Eurovision in Tollcross? I value my post-Sweden-winning-eurovision life more
Alas poor Wendy...
OK!
So sorry!
