Nice results. Charlotte is fantastic and Sweden deserves to win! HEJA SVERIGE!!!
My top five prediction is
- Sweden (perfect song + amazing artist)
- Switzerland (nice lad with a good voice)
- Norway (just gets better every time)
- Russia (neighbour-voting will give Dima a high position)
- Serbia (amazing song and performance)
And Finland... voi voi, ei kelpaaa sorry.
Good luck to all countries!

@Rob Weisner
In all fairness you can't compare professional juries who make their judgement solely on the song and the performance on the night to the eejits that vote in these things. These OGAE votes are as biased as the political voting that goes on between countries in real life.
this year countries particapte just for participation
This statement also expresses my feelings about this year. While there are some great quality songs (which unfortunately aren't special enough to survive in my mp3 after ESC is over) more songs are average. If a country's music scene was to be judged by the kind of song they send to ESC it would suck (I don't want to say something worse) Fortunately I know that each country that participates produces much more than this.

Sweden? It must be a joke, Hero has nothing special just a pop song, according to me 2008's eurovision songs are bad of each other, last year was perfect-denmark, holland, greece, russia, serbia, belarus-but this year countries particapte just for participation, dont think that i am a nationalist but our song 'Deli' is so different from the others, and it's sound is better
@Rob, the results of the polls may be disappointing to you, but that has nothing to do with jury- or televoting: neither system can guarantee that we will all be happy about the final results. What a 50/50 system would do is make the results less predictable and more based on musical qualities than on superficial gimmicks.
sweden has a great song....
I am really suprises with all this 12 points for Sweden.Looks like Charlotte will win surley...but in my opinion it is not gonna happen...Russia is an eventual winner...or maybe Serbia...anyway good luck Charlotte...

@ rob
so we should continue to put up with unfair diaspora and neighbour voting should we? the voting used to be so exciting but now its so predictable.the way we can predict whre the 12s and 10s are gonna go from certain countries is , frankly , laughable!
These result of the votes from the OGAE juries is the single biggest reason why we should not return to 50% or 100% jury votes.
Well, Jacques, perhaps you should get used to the idea by now
I agree with you on Serbia and Switzerland, but the German entry is not my cup of tea: the song is rather monotonous and the girls, however charming, are not the best singers of this year's contest.
Sweden again.....
I don't really understand that !!!!
This song is really, really, really nothing special !
Switzerland,Serbia and Germany = 10000000000 times better.
Seems theres going to be a lot of shocked faces when the competition returns to Dublin for 2009!

Don't worry about the two posts thing, I've done it before tonnes of times by accident!!
Jonny K:
I think so too
Sorry, didn't mean to send two posts last time.

Oh, I don't remember that!!! Well I don't pay much attention to the UK charts now I have the wonderful world of eurovision!!!
And yeah, the UK will never attract big names . . . . unless there is a eurovision revolution in the UK!!!
Also, I like how Sweden is probably one of the most inoffensive countries in the world, but when it comes to Eurovision everyone seems to argue about them.
Darn you Sweden!!!!
Honestly though Sweden ain't got a prayer of winning this year. Top 10 maybe but definitely no winner.

Aaaah, thanks! Its a shame because the Helsinki performance was less impactive because of small things. I think if the technical issues would have been sorted, the ark could have got a much better position. Oh well . . . . . . We'll always love them!!!!
@ Jonny K
I'd hardly say the Sugababes are running out of steam their last album was number 1 as well as About You Now - what a great song
I don't think the UK will ever attract a big name to appear at Eurovision though. The image is too kitsch and hasn't done anything to help the careers of any recent UK entries. The UK music industry is strong enough not to need Eurovision to launch acts Europe and worldwide.
- v n
Yeah, the Ark won over the Schlager loving swedish public!!!
(Sorry if I offended you the other day, apologies!)
Jonny K:
I agree with you. The MF performance was much better. A lot of things went wrong in Helsinki. The sound and the camera work were very bad and the "spinning plate" didn't work at first
