Charity soccer match before rehearsal
Switzerland: Paolo Meneguzzi vs Maradona
For the seventeenth year in a row, la Partita del quore will take place in Italy, in Rome this year. The Nazionale Italiana Cantanti, a football team comprising some of the biggest names in the country's musical industry will be playing against Unica, a team of number 1 sportsmen, TV personas and actors of past and present.
Paolo Meneguzzi, the Swiss ambassador in the Eurovision Song Contest will be once more participating with the Nazionale Italiana Cantanti, just a few short hours before his first rehearsal at 14.30 the next day in Belgrade. Paolo also participated in the 2006 Partita del cuore, when he scored one of the six goals of his team.This year, Paolo, together with Eros Ramazzotti and Gianni Morandi, will be playing against Argentinian football legend Diego Maradona and Brazilian Zico, also known as the white Pelè.
The proceeds from this extremely popular charity will go to the Parco della Mistica Foundation, for the creation of the first Productive Campus of Law and Solidarity. The match will be transmitted live on Raiuno.

I really want Switzerland to win but this will take something more than a miracle...
"Era stupendo" is my favourite of ESC2008. Switzerland gets my vote for sure in semifinal 2.

I agree with Jonny K. "Cool vibes" is my favourite Swiss entry. Hopefully Vanilla Ninja will compete for Estonia one day. I also like the 1981 entry "Io senza te".

I agree, the studio version was great, but the live version . . . . .aah, the vocals were terrible!!! (but they had a good routine!)
I think my favourite Swiss entry has to be "Cool Vibes" from the 2005. Vanilla Ninja were great, and although they were estonian, they still did Switzerland proud
Although I found Jane Bogaert's voice in 2000 very grating. Not one of my favourites unfortuanatley. Although I agree that Francine Jordi was great 
I liked "Vampires Are Alive". That's the studio version, because the live performance was DREADFUL! It didn't make an impact on me.
And Six4One sang one of the dullest songs I ever heard, I agree on that. My fav Swiss entries in the 21st Century were Jane Bogaert (2000) and Francine Jordi (2002).

2004 - retards on stage with an even more retarded songs
2005 - they borrowed artists from Estonia (sign of weakness?)
2006 - They send artists from 6 different countries (again, a sign of weakness?)
2007 - They send some stupid vampires who dance like freaks escaped from an insane asylum.
2008 - A guy with a silly song, and it's even PLAGIARISM!!!

Many sportmen were on drugs, many actors/singers were alcoholic... Whitney Houston was in drugs too, but it doesn't mean she was a bad singer, does it? Fame affect people in a different ways, and some take the bad one.

This year Switzerland has really good song...In my opinion they will surley go to the final...and there they will make nice score...Unfortunately I do not see them winning...

Yeah, if he was really good at football, he'd be earning millions playing it, not participating in eurovision!!! lol (I am really crap at football!!)
Jonny K, I don't think Paolo is very good at sports. He has not the 'type'. Anyway, nobody's gonna kill anybody in this match. They won't play hard, it's a charity event after all.
As a side note, I've mailed some ESC delegations in order to get some promo singles. The Swiss delegation addressed me to Paolo's MySpace and some websites to buy the album. All the possitive responses I got by far were from Eastern countries. It says it all...
