Ukraine: All Ukrainian Eurostars in Tavrian games

This year's edition of the Tavrian Games, one of the largest festivals in Eastern Europe will take place in Kahovka, in Ukraine between May 1st and 3rd featuring every single Ukrainian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest except Greenjolly. International fans will have the opportunity to watch the shows through a live stream provided.

[UPD] You can watch the Tavrian games online on this article between 18:00 - 01:00 CET each day. A live link shall appear here before show starts until show ends. Ani Lorak performs on May 1st, the rest of the Ukrainian Eurostars on May 3rd.

About 80,000 people attend the three-day music festival held on the Dypno river shore town of Kahovka every year with millions more watching on TV and on the internet. This year the Tavrian Games will take place from 1st to 3rd May. Each and every one of the Ukrainian representatives in the past Eurovision Song Contests, apart from Greenjolly, the 2005 representatives, will perform an one hour or longer set each which Eurofans all over Europe will be able to watch through the live webcast provided.

Although traditionally each year international stars are invited to perform during the festival, such as Turkish Tarkan and Russian Alla Pugacheva, Deep Purple, Status Quo and others, this time the organisers have opted for an all Ukrainian line up. On 1st May, this year's Eurovision Song Contest representative, Ani Lorak will perform as well as Alibi, Kishe, Boombox, TNMK, Imperiya Label, Potap & Nastya Kamenskih. The second day will see LAMA (MTV award winners for best Ukrainian act), Mad Heads, Tartak, Druga Rika, TIK, Skryabin. The third and last day of the festival will see Ruslana (2004), Olexander (2003), Tina Karol' (2006), Verka Serdyuchka (2007) and Vitaliy Kozlovskiy, who although has not participated in the contest yet is hotly tipped to be up for next year.

Tavrian Games wil be broadcast on M1 channel from 18:00 CET (19:00 local time) to 01:00 CET (02:00  local time) every day from May 1 to May 3.

Does anyone have any video clips of Verka's set? There don't seem to be any online on Youtube or anywhere... someone must have recorded it! I HAVE to see it again, especially "Essen"...

Ukraine has been very lucky in recent years in the ESC.
Ruslana was great, the song was on fire, from the first time I saw it I knew immediately that Ukraine will win in 2004-well but in 2005 I didn´t like the song at all-then in 2006 Tina was cool, I loved her boots and her voice :)-Verka in 2007 was one of the funniest performances ever, I remember that people danced in the Senate Square in Helsinki when it was Ukraine´s turn to show its best-.. this year, well we will see but I think that Shady Lady goes to the final because of nice chorus that everyone could sing- good luck to Ukraine !!! :D :)

Verka and her crew are awesome... that third song, the techno reworking of "Essen", was amazing - fantastic choreography and camerawork!!!!

hmm, strange. She's performing ENGLISH version of Wild Energy.
I like effects on her voice.
If you compare her vocal performance to Azerbaijan ... hmm, imho TG is better.

Now she sings AND plays drums at the same time.

Alex - at what time will Verka be on?

Glen Bartlett [22315]

To be truthful - I'll be glad when this amateur is off stage. I'd rather listen to Ruslana's shouting than this.

I meant "recent years" :)
ehhhh, imho he's more into ballads. Rock doesn't suit him AT ALL.
geez, the site bugs for me for some reason.
soon it will be Ruslana :) then Tina and after that Verka will close the fest ... there will be fireworks :)

YES. This is his after-Eurovision sound.
He started losing his popularity this year and even Eurovision didn't help him to gain it again.
He became a TV host, broke up with his wife and married a young girl who's younger on more than 10 years than him. well, currently he's famous for everything BUT singing. LOL.
I don't think that he will become as popular as he was before 2000.
well, he has 3 kids btw )))

Olexander sounds a bit like Lordi - and that isn't good.

Alex Amos [44767]
Sat 3 May 2008 19:27:00

Glen, yeah it was Vitaliy.
lol, I don't like him. I hope he won't participate in the next NF though something tells me that she will win our NF next year. I hope NOT :)

anyway, Olexander Ponomaryov is right now. It was our debut in 2003.
well, he changed a lot but his negative sides didn't change at all unfortunatly.

lolz, he missed a bridge of 1 song because of tech problems with sound. Our sound engineers suck.

Fabio -

I think you should be the mature one and explain what you were saying.
Basically, your calling someone childish by being given remarks, and then you go and do it yourself!

Anyway - cant wait for Verka! :P
