Eurostars in Russia

Bilan, Alehno and Lorak join Sirusho at the AMA's

Dima Bilan, Ruslan Alehno and Ani Lorak will be joining Sirusho at the Tashir Awards, aka the Armenian Music Awards, on 6th April. The show will be broadcasted by ARMTV in more than 80 countries worldwide.

As reported earlier this week, Sirusho, the Armenian representative in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest will be attending the Armenian Music Awards in Moscow, where she is nominated for Best Artist together with Hayko and Andre who also represented their country in the two previous contests. More Eurostars will be joining Sirusho in this high profile event. Dima Bilan, the Russian hope in Belgrade, Ani Lorak, the Ukrainian Shady lady and Belorussian Ruslan Alehno have also been confirmed to be present and perform their Eurovision entries.

The Qele, qele promo CD single is about to be released and it will be distributed to members of the media during Sirusho's promo tour and during press conferences in Belgrade. It will contain two original remixes of the song, as well as the karaoke version and the official video clip as well. The remix tracks will be available to download on the official Armenian Eurovision website starting tomorrow, 4th April.

When in Moscow, Sirusho met with Dima Bilan and together they had a photoshoot session for a well- known Yerevan journal. Footage from the shoot can be watched below.

@ Rita

as I heard it will not be the same scenario, but who knows
maybe even that is better than some "plastic" songs and people on the scene. and i hope he will win or maybe bulgaria, i just like those songs

@Ivica

To win with such a lousy song, Dima doesn't need to sing in perfect English, all he needs to do is to drop down on his knees and spend half of his performance wiping the floor and weeping over the microphone. There is a bunch of fans who wil vote for him only because they admire this type of miserable scenery. Good news for the Belgrade crew, is that after Dima, no stage cleaning. The floor will be reflecting as a mirror!

Dima is the best this year,
And for those who are arguing about his English , if you knew little bit more about music you would notice that it was made with purpose and for synchronization , so pls shut up.

Moscow 2009, 12 points from Macedonia!

@ NORO MMMO
Don't turn my words around... I've never said that neighbours shouldn't vote for a song only because it comes from the neighbours... It's often like that here - people turn your words around, so long until they become ridiculous...

"OH, they are neighbors, we shouldnt vote for them"...... Are you serious??

You can spare your two question marks - I've never written anything like that you are misquoting here...
So, that's how you can consider diaspora voting - of course Serbs are voting for their home country when they live in - let's say - Croatia. They are paying much more attention to this song than to others and if it is halfway pleasant, they are voting for it - quite natural.
You can't blame the people for doing so, but in the end you get what we get - a completely unfair, biased voting... And that's not the fault of the Serbs, Russians, Armenians or Greeks - words that you want to put in my mouth - that's the fault of this voting system...

@ Rita Belindarian
Don*t bring the example of Finland. Finland gets a few of the Scandinavian and Baltic votes anyway, but allowedly, that wouldn't have helped them to force a victory... Finland in 2006 were extreme - so they were creating controversy and awakening attention... I know many people in Germany who watched the Contest only because of Lordi... But you can't claim on the Western countries only to bring something similar and then get a decent result, not when Greece's Sarbel, Armenia's Andre or Turkey's Kenan join the Top10 easily with unoriginal, bad songs...
If you don't have a song like Finland's - you can't demand for it every year - then one of the countries with the biggest support of "unfair" points wins. Don't tell me that Molitva would have won if the UK have sent it in... Serebro would have perhaps joined the Top10 - or rather Top15 - if they were a German group. And Sarbel - sorry - would have never reached the final, if Portugal were responsible for him...

You say that MY country is always giving 12 points to Turkey, no matter the song. You're right, that's exactly what I'm blaming. That's definitely not my fault, because I'm voting for at least one up to three countries every show and not only for Austria, Switzerland and France. Last year I preferred Netherlands, Andorra and Hungary in the semis - a colourful mixture, more than you can get often from "East"-fans...
But I'm a fan and not the fans are affecting the outcome, but the large masses of voters. And in the Western countries - I can observe it very well in Germany - the interest is declining more and more. People are saying: "Whatever we send, we don't stand a chance of getting a Top10-place" and if they have other possibilities, they aren't watching anymore. Many of the Eurovision parties which were going on mostly in the gay scene are cancelled, because many people don't want to watch the same scenario over and over again - the scenario where you can predict quite surely the points the countries are giving to each other...
And that's a vicious circle - the interest degreases, the minorities are keeping on voting - voilà: our "douze points" go to - Turkey! hey....!

This year could eventually become the last try for many countries. France is sending a topstar, Germany has send two very fresh entries in the last two years and is now bringing the most successful girl group of Continental Europe, Iceland, Malta, Belgium, Denmark for financial reasons - all of them are countries who could step out if they aren't doing well and, more likely, if the Eastern countries have booked again the first places for themselves...
Russia has really no forcing song this year, Ukraine and Greece, too. No need to talk about Belarus. Armenia is sending an Ethno-song which we have heard a thousand times now in the last four years after Ruslana...
There ARE better songs in the competition. And even so, I'm pretty sure that we will see Russia and Armenia joining the top3...

okay - that's all for now! long answer, but I still see a need for defending myself - still a good sign...

Rita, well i dont want Armenia to give 12 pts to Russia too! I wish Armenia gives 12 to Greece,if not then to Ukraine! And it's wrong to vote for Bilan only coz he's famous in Armenia! But what can we do with all Dima's fans in Armenia? They will vote even without AMA performances!

I hope Armenian 12points go to lovely Kalomoira from Greece! ou bien Ani lorak ;)

Nevertheless,it is great to see 4 Eurostars in AMA.we can see a bit how will be the performances on ESc stage(a bit) :)

Rita Belindarian [46330]
Fri 4 Apr 2008 10:19:50

you know what by inviting this 4 candidates to AMA, the ArmTV makes a huge mistake. They are trying to influence peoples voting in advance. If they are going to perfom their ESC songs at AMA so people will already have an idea about the songs and the performances. It's wrong. Really wrong. I don't want Armenia give 12pts to Russia because of Dima. His song sucks! I'm sorry I hate to say that but we can't give each year 12pts to Russia because we know Dima Bilan or some other Russian starlet. I wish Urkaine gets 12pts or Serbia, but not Dima.
Hate that song!

Max, what the hell do you want people to do in neighboring countries when they like a song that is culturally connected to them as well?? "OH, they are neighbors, we shouldnt vote for them"...... Are you serious?? People in countries like what they hear and vote for it, just because they are neighbors doesnt mean they should get less points.. Why does Armenia give 8 points to Greece? Because its favored by most of the armenians.. And if u look at the lower points Armenia gave to countries, some didnt vote for Armenia, like Serbia Bosnia FYROM,

Rita Belindarian [46330]
Fri 4 Apr 2008 01:28:15

@Max
You are exagerating with diaspora/neighbour votes!
How come Finland won in 2006? Diaspora voting?
There 2 countries who have important diasporas in Europe: Turkey and Serbia. Armenian diaspora is nothing comparing to them ...
Your country always gives 12 pts to Turkey, so? Does Turkey win every year?

Night Elf [43921]
Fri 4 Apr 2008 00:18:24

Sergio Marone

i am 1/2 Serb, 1/2 Montenegrin, why do you ask ??!!

As for OGAE polls, let me tell you something Serbia won last year in OGAE votes and it was true, but Switzerland was 2nd in that list and they DIDN'T EVEN QUALIFY... That's I have to say !!! These polls means absolutely nothing, I thought you know that.

As for Armenian entry, yes it will do well, but hey you got to admit if Armenia send a song like Estonia did this year "Leto svet" witch 99% ppl here agree it's the worst would they qualify in to the final... Ofcores, so it doesn't meter really...

I don't care, I will be there in Belgrade enjoy the show and there is nothing that will spoil my happiness, even if this cheap song do well :P
