Biography
Friđrik Ómar took part in the Icelandic national final Söngvakeppni in 2006 with Ţađ Sem Verđur (Thinking of you), ending 3rd and in 2007 with Eldur (Fire) ended up in second place. Regina Ósk sang Ţér Viđ Hliđ (By your side) in the 2006 selection ending 2nd and in the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest she was a backing singer for Iceland’s Segđu mér allt, performed by Birgitta Haukdal . In March 2006 the two singers, Friđrik and Regina, established The Euroband, a band which only plays songs which have competed in the Eurovision Song Contest . The keyboard player in the band is Grétar Örvarsson, also well known to the ardent Eurovision Song Contest fans. He competed in 1990 in Zagreb, Croatia together with Sigriđur Beinteinsdóttir and the song Eitt lag enn, (4th) and he also composed Nei Eđa Já in 1992, Icelandic entry in Malmö, Sweden, performed by Sigríđur Beinteinsdóttir & Sigrún Eva Ármannsdottir (7th), achieving the two best results for Iceland until Selma ended 2nd with All out of luck in 1999.
The band has played in several festivals in Iceland, they haven't released any albums yet but if you visit their Myspace you’ll enjoy some of the most famous entries of the Eurovision Song Contest performed by them.
