Biography
Turkey shall be represented by Buket Bengisu & Saphire at the Eurovision 2002. The members of Saphire are Eser Alioglu, Dilek Aba, Gülnur Gökçe and Sitare Bilge. Their song "Leylaklar soldu kalbinde" ("Lilacs filled in your heart") which won the National Final was chosen among 195 songs.
Buket Bengisu was born in 1978 in Istanbul. She comes from a family of musicians. She started her musical career very young playing piano and guitar and took lessons in singing and solfeggio. She graduated from Istanbul University State Conservatory in singing in 2000. She is now a student in the same University studying in the Musicals Faculty. She performed with differents orchestras in Istanbul and played in private theaters and in plays for children.
