Biography
The duo Antique, which will sing the Greek entry "Die for you" consists of Elena Paparizou and Nikos Panagiotidis, two young Greeks who were born and raised in Sweden. Their parents are Greek and they both grew up in Greek atmosphere and with Greek cultural backgrounds even though they lived so far from their homeland.
Elena and Nikos have deep roots in Greek folk music. Nikos has performed for many years on the Bouzouki and singing Greek folk songs. Recently Elena and Nikos met the producer-team C & N Project and together they got the idea to mix the Greek Mediterranean feeling with Scandinavian dance music and pop tunes. The result is "Die for you", which will be heard when Antique sings the Greek entry.
The composer and lyricist behind the Greek entry, Nikos Terzis and Antonis Pappas are old friends and began writing music together in 1991. They have written songs that have become hits for many famous Greek artists. And they have also helped new Greek artists on their way with songs that have given these new artists their own musical identity.
Nikos Terzis and Antonis Pappas have previously written a song that competed in the Eurovision Song Contest. It was in 1995 where their song "Pia prossefchi" came in 12th.
