Biography
The artist representing Turkey at this years Eurovision Song Contest is Sedat Yüce. He was born in 1976 in Izmir and all through his childhood he knew that music would be his future. He went to the conservatory where he studied composition and specialized in the trumpet.
To represent his country at the Eurovision Song Contest has long been a goal, which Sedat Yüce has finally achieved. Twice previously he has participated in the local Turkish Song Contest, but both time unsuccessfully. In 1996, he was number three and in 1999 he also competed without winning the top spot that gives a place in the European final. This year he succeeded and Sedat Yüce will sing his song in both Turkish and English.
The couple, Semih and Nurdan Güneri, are behind the Turkish entry in the Eurovision Song Contest. Nurdan Güneri is an economics teacher by day, but has always used her spare time to write lyrics for her husbands compositions.
Semih Güneri is an archeologist and professor at the university at Izmir. Next to his work there, he has had a long career as a musician, composer and director and has participated in a long series of national and international festivals and competitions where he has won numerous prestigious awards.
