Biography
Charlotte Nilsson, took over as lead singer in the dance band Wizex after Lena Pålsson (MF'92 and 93), and has been visible as a backing singer for Björn Hedström in Melodifestivalen 95. The composer is an established name in the dance band world, and Gert Lengstrand has written numerous lyrics before, most notably Eloise for Arvingarna. (ESC 1993)
When this song won Melodifestivalen (the Swedish Song for Europe) most local fans were very disappointed, since despite many modern songs and performers who went on to have chart hits with their entries, an old-fashioned song had won. International fans however were delighted and with the 25th anniversary of ABBA's win and the media attention surrounding the Mamma Mia musical, a bouncy uptempo Eurovision song such as this could only grab a lot of votes. Easily the best performance of the night and with backing vocals to match.
