Biography
Katarína Hasprová was born in Bratislava in 1972. Music, dance and acting are deeply rooted in her family. Her mother is a well-known Slovak actress and singer, her father a leading director of theatre and television. A graduate in music from the Janácek Music Academy, Katarína devotes all her time to singing and dancing and has performed in a number of classic musicals, including West Side Story and Hair.
Gabriel Dušík is a graduate of piano, composition and singing. He started his musical career by setting up a rock group. Today he devotes most of his time to song writing and music production. He has released his own records with Slovak as well as foreign publishers such as EMI and Polygram. As a producer, he has won one platinum and four gold discs.
Anna Wepperyová has been working closely with Gabriel Dusík on a number of his musical projects. Her activities also include scientific research, teaching and book translation.
Vladimir Valovic has devoted himself to music since early childhood. He specialised in trumpet and musical direction at the Music School in Bratislava. He started work as Director of Music at Czech Radio in Brno before setting up the celebrated VV System jazz orchestra which has performed all over Europe. In 1983 he became conductor of Big Band Radio Bratislava and he now conducts the renowned Gustav Brom Orchestra. [Notes from the Official 1998 Programme by the BBC]
