Biography
Charlie originally wanted to be a ballet dancer, but injuries forced him to give up and he turned to music. He started playing the trumpet as an 11 year-old and later, formed his first pop group, Decca with friends. But it was when he went solo and released his first album in 1994 that he became a major Hungarian star.
His second album went platinum in just two weeks. On tour in 1996 he filled Budapest Stadium with 17,000 fans. Charlie’s first record in English was released the same year. In four years he’s had one golden album, two platinum and one diamond.
Attila Horváth was born in Budapest and organised his first rock group in the 1960s. He developed into a song writer and his first song was performed by the Hungarian group Taurus. He has now written songs for more than 30 albums.
István Lerch was born in Budapest and started playing the piano when he was 7 years-old. He studied classical music for 12 years and then graduated from the faculty of jazz at the Bela Bartók Academy of Music. He started composing in 1975 and has now published more than 200 songs. Ten of them became Gold discs. He has been chosen as Best Composer and Best Pianist of the Year several times.
Miklós Malek was born in Budapest and graduated from the Faculty of Trumpet at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. As a musician, he has worked with pop groups and composed for film, theatre and television. He started as a conductor in the 1980s, working on musicals and symphonies.
