Biography
Debbie Scerri is making her second visit to Eurovision in Ireland - in 1993 she was a backing singer for the Maltese entry in the Eurovision Song Contest in Millstreet. Debbie is a TV presenter, and sings in musicals and festivals. She has represented Malta in song contests in Greece and in the South Pacific International Song Contest in Australia, where she won the award for best performance. Her first CD, Having You, has just been released.
Ray Agius was the composer, arranger and conductor of the Maltese entry in the 1995 Eurovision in Dublin, and has also competed in Irish song contests in Castlebar and Cavan. His songs have competed in Vinc del Mar in Chile, Tokyo's World Song Festival, Çesme International in Turkey, and in Bratislava. He began playing piano professionally after finishing his studies in the classics, and is known for his jazz improvisation. [Notes from the Official 1997 Programme by RTÉ]
