Biography
Born in Stockholm in 1950, Marie Bergman began singing as a guitarist touring the Swedish youth clubs, and today enjoys a widespread reputation as a stage and recording artist throughout Scandinavia, starring in nightclubs and musicals and working extensively this year with the Danmarks Radio Big Band. She has many successful solo albums to her credit. Marie Bergman returns to the Eurovision Song Contest tonight, after having shared the stage twice before in 1971 and 1972 with the other members of Family Four, singing Vita Vidder and Härliga Sommardag respectively.
Roger Pontare, born in 1951, comes from the north of Sweden, and began his career at the age of three! He still loves the country-side, and began his working life as a shepherd and blacksmith, but since breaking into the world of full-time performance and recording he has established a reputation as a thorough musician working in a variety of genres.
Peter Bertilsson is 24 and has composed music from an early age, going on to study percussion, taking up work as a music teacher and seeing some of his songs reach the European hit charts.
Mikael Littwold was born in 1965 and qualified as a music teacher while he was earning a living as a ballad singer. He has been writing songs for as long as he can remember. [Notes from the Official 1994 Programme by RTÉ]
