Biography
RIVA comprises: Emilia Kokic (lead singer), Dalibor Musap (keyboards and vocals), Zvonimir Zrilic (guitar and vocals), Nenad Nakic (bass guitar) and Bosko Colic (drums). The band was founded in 1986. All members of RIVA are brilliant musicians, performers and composers of universal, international pop music which knows no boundaries. They all come from Zadar, an ancient town on the Adriatic coast, where music was marked for conturies by a mixture of Mediterranean singing and the slave influence.
Rajko Dujmic was recently named Yugoslavia's Quincy Jones. He is bandleader of the best selling Yugoslav pop group and also composer, arranger and producer for many Yugoslav stars. Rajko Dujmic has the intuition of a distinguished hit-maker. This is the third time a Dujmic composition is competing for top Eurovision honour.
Stevo Cvikic has long DJ experience which has helped him uncover the secrets of the world's best selling lyrics. Three times his lyrics have won the national competition.
Nikica Kalogjera is a big name in the world of Yugoslav popular music. Besides medicine he studied music (composition and conducting), and his hobby became his vocation. His songs have been frequently performed by such celebrities as Mireille Mathieu, Claudio Villa (Italy 1962), Raymond Lefčvre and Séverine (Monaco 1971). [Notes from the Official 1989 programme]
