Biography

As a very small girl, Justine Pelmelay adored "krontjong" music of Indonesian origin. At 12 she announced that she was going to be a singer in the Eurovision Song Contest. She first sang in bands and at 23, became lead singer of the Pasadena Dream Band. 5 years later she joined the Swinging Soul Machine. A period as a session singer followed. In 1988, Justine performed as background singer at the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin. Currently, Justine is studying at the Hilversum Academy of Light Music.

The writers collective "Cat Music" (in fact 70s popgroup Catapult and 80s popgroups Rubberen Robbie and Monotones), in collaboration with composer/songwriter Jan Kisjes, created "Blijf zoals je bent". Jan Kisjes' company is responsible for the arrangements and the production of the record.

The name of musical director Harry van Hoof has been linked to the Eurovision Song Contest for many years. He was born in Hilversum in 1943. After secondary school he studied music at the Tilburg Conservatory. Although Harry van Hoof is now famous as arranger and director, he also played keyboard in the best-known Dutch rock group of the Sixties, Peter Koelewijn & Zijn Rockets. For the Brass United wind instruments ensemble, he arranged classical themes. He also made recordings with well-known Dutch musicians and accompanied The Three Degrees on their tour of Japan. Harry van Hoof is a regular guest director of the orchestra of the Netherlands Broadcasting Corporation which he directed at the 1972, 1974, 1986 and 1988 Eurovision Song Contests.
