Biography
MFÖ is a Turkish trio composed of Mazhar Alanson, Fuat Güner, and Ozkan Ugur. They have been working together for 15 years writing and composing songs, and breathing a fresh originality into the Turkish musical scene. Stylistically affiliated with contemporary western music, the output of MFÖ ranges from pure Rock and Pop, to New Romantic; and classic ballads. Their second album "Ele Güne Karsi" topped the charts for 26 weeks in Turkey.
Since 1985 they recorded further albums. They have won several awards over the last 5 years, and they place great emphasis on musical quality. They represented Turkey at 1985 Eurovision Song Contest with a song called "Di dai di dai dai (a'sik oldum)", and again this year they are in Eurovision '88 with a new song called "Sufi (hey ya hey)".
Turhan Yükseler received his musical training at the Istanbul Municipality Conservatory. Since 1970 he has worked as a clavier player with various groups and studios. He has steadily gained a strong reputation as an arranger and composer, gathering many awards. [Notes from the Official 1988 Programme by RTÉ]
