The Icelandic Eurovision Song Contest was chosen during a national final. A special feature of the show was the fact that the songs were not performed live but shown as pre-preduced video clips. The winner was chosen by eight regional juries.
Halla Margrét Árnadóttir won the selection alhtough she had to perform second, a place in the running order that is not popular at all in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Lead singer of the group Módel was Eírikur Hauksson who represented Iceland on its debut the year before as part of the group Icy.
