Once again, the German national final took place in the same mode as it has done since 1979.
Biography
Ingrid Peters - born on April 14th in Saarbrücken, West Germany, is, without doubt, one of the pioneers of German pop songs, songs with what could rightfully be called a "sophishcated" approach. 1975 was Ingrid's year. That was when she received the "Goldene Europa", an award presented to her by Europawelle Saar (Radio Saarbrücken), as the most promising young singer of that year. At the same time, she was widely acclaimed as being the discovery of the year.
Ingrid Peters was not out to achieve instant success - she deemed it far more important to build her career step by step. She was very careful in choosing her song material and, especially, lyrics which she wanted to have a meaning in every-day life. This was not easy but her gradually growing popularity proved her to be right. Songs such as "Du bist nicht frei" and "Weißt du, wo du hingehst" were strongly accepted by both critics and her audiences. Werner Schüler, who also worked with Dschinghis Khan (Germany 1979), is Ingrid Peters' experienced producer, an ideal partner for this great lady of song. Ingrid won a highly rewarding prize at the International Seoul Song Festival, which was held in South Korea in May 1983. Her song was entitled "Was ich nicht weiß".
Chart successes such as "Viva La Mama", "Feigling", "Ich halte zu dir", "Afrika" and "Tango" have made Ingrid Peters one of Germany's most successful and popular singers. March 27th, 1986 is one of the most important days in the life of lovely Ingrid Peters. That was the day she won the German national song festival with her song "Über die Brücke geh'n" - the song with which she will represent Germany in this year's European Song Contest in Bergen, Norway. And no one is happier about this than Ingrid Peters.
Hans Blüm, born on May 23rd, 1928, is a native of Hannover, West Germany. He has every reason to be proud of himself - no need to hide behind a pseudonym - for the multi-talented gentleman has been one of the most successful music-men in Germany for the past 20 years - not only as a writer, but also as a producer and singer in his own right. In 1965, 1967 and 1969 Germany participated in the European Song Contest with songs written by Hans Blüm. In 1966 the German national winner was Hans Blüm's song "Beiß nicht gleich in jeden Apfel", sung by Wencke Myhre. He also had the winner in 1968: "Harlekin", sung by Siw Malmkvist. 1970 was Blüm's year too: this time the song was called: "Das schöne Mädchen von Seite 1", the singer was Howard Carpendale. Blüm wrote the German entry for the Karlsbad Songfestival in 1968, where his song "Zigeunerjunge" was performed by the immortal Alexandra. Lale Andersen, Ivan Rebroff, Boney M. and Hildegard Knef - just to mention a few - are names of stars Hans Blüm has written for.
"El Lute" the world-wide hit by Boney M. - is his song, as well as the German entries for the 1969 Rio de Janeiro Festival and the one held in Caracas in 1973. Happily married to Inge, an ex-singer, Hans Blüm indulges in hobbies such as geology and astrology. [Notes from the official 86 programme by NRK]
