Biography
Prima Donna consisted of Lance Aston, Alan Coates, Danny Finn, June Robbins, Kate Robbins and Sally-Ann Triplet. Some of the group members had their connection with chart history and Eurovision Song Contest. June and Kate Robbins were second cousins to Paul McCartney and Danny Finn had been in the New Seekers, when they reformed in 1976. Like many groups Prima Donna was especially formed for the Eurovision Song Contest. After Love Enough For Two they only recorded one more single, Just Got To Be With You, before disbanding. Sally-Ann would return to Eurovision as part of the 1982 entrants Bardo, before embarking on a solo career that would bring her to the cast of the musical Grease in the mid-90's. Alan Coates would accompany Bucks Fizz, next year's Eurovision winners, on their 1991 tour. The most success in terms of chart success had Kate Robbins. In 1981 she and her band Beyond reached the second position in the UK charts with the song More Than In Love.
Both Stuart Slater and Stephanie De Sykes were no strangers to charts and Eurovision. In fact they both wrote Co-Co's 1978 UK entry The Bad Old Days. Stuart Slater tried to enter Eurovision himself, again with a De Sykes/Slater composition in 1983. Sadly the song All Around The World didn't come further than a fifth position in A Song For Europe that year. Stephanie De Sykes enjoyed success in the charts in 1974 as part of the group Rain (Born With A Smile On My Face) and in 1975 solo with We'll Find Our Day.
