Biography
Black Lace consisted of Alan Barton, Terry Dobson, Colin Routh and Steve Scholey. Mary Ann was the first and the last hit the foursome had and it would last until 1983, before they reappeared in the charts again. This time as a duo consisting of Alan Barton and Colin Routh and with much more success than as a quartet. This duo had two big hits in 1983, Superman (Gioca Jouer) and the inevitable Agadoo. This song had already been a huge hit on the European continent three years before for the Saragossa Band, who did have their only hit with this song. Songs like Do The Conga and Hokey Cokey followed, but the duo never quite achieved the success they had known before. Black Lace is still touring the cabaret circuit in the 90's.
