Biography
Co-Co consisted of Josephine Andrews, Cheryl Baker, Charlie Brennan, Keith Haslar and Paul Rogers. The group already tried their hands on the Eurovision Song Contest, when in 1976 they lost out to Brotherhood Of Man's Save Your Kisses For Me in that year's A Song For Europe by only two points. The song was Wake Up. Although the song was a minor success in the UK, the group soon disappeared in obscurity, only to reappear for 1978's A Song For Europe. This time The Bad Old Days got them a ticket to Paris. The song even managed to make a dent in the UK charts. But soon afterwards the group split. Making the way free for Cheryl Baker to join Bucks Fizz for their 1981 debut on the Eurovision stage in Dublin.
Both Stuart Slater and Stephanie De Sykes are no strangers to charts and Eurovision. In fact they both also wrote Prima Donna's 1980 UK entry Love Enough For Two. Stuart Slater tried to enter Eurovision himself, again with a De Sykes/Slater composition in 1983. Sadly the song All Around The World didn't come further than a fifth position in A Song For Europe that year. Stephanie De Sykes enjoyed success in the charts in 1974 as part of the group Rain (Born With A Smile On My Face) and in 1975 solo with We'll Find Our Day.
