12 singers took part in the UK national final for the 1962 Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Luxembourg. The voting has changed: this year, 14 regional juries decided the winner, who turned out to be Ronniw Carroll. After not qualifying in the 1960 UK semi final, he was the clear winner of the competition with Ring-a-ding girl: he received 59 points, more than twice the amount of points runner-up received.
