Biography
The Allisons consisted of Bob Allison and John Allison. They were presented as brothers, but in reality they weren't. The real names of the singers are Bob Day and John Alford. The two singers became professionals by pure accidence, when they won a talent show. Before, they had been working as a trainee buyer and an engineering draughtsman respectively. Two more hits followed Are You Sure?: 1961's Words and 1962's Lessons Of Love. When subsequent releases didn't make the charts however, The Allisons stopped singing and concentrated on a writing and producing career instead. In 1978 and 1985 however The Allisons briefly returned as a singing unit. But neither 1978's album The Allisons Sing Christmas nor 1985's Inside Out did set the world alight.
