Hey I live in the south of the UK, about 50 miles from London, and i'm currently at College studying French, Politics, Economics & History. I don't really listen to much Eurovision music, in fact at the moment I don't listen to any at all, but enjoy following it throughout the year anyway. Tbh im not really sure where my interest stems from from. I actually started to want to watch the contest after I saw Lordi winning in 2006 (When your favourite wins it's always slightly more appealing!), so you could put it down to that, or maybe just the fact that I was bought up on a diet of very camp music haha (My parents listen to nothing but ABBA, the Pet Shops Boys and Queen ) So anyway ... yeah, hey! Anyway everybody does them, so here is my list for 2010 (so far, and don't crucify me if/when it ends up outdated!)
1 - Turkey - REALLY great, not really much else to say!
2 - Cyprus - A real grower, catchy and generally easy to listen to.
3 - Belgium - Again, a grower, but hopefully they'll qualify this year.
4 - Azerbaijan - A proper decent rnb ballad, love it.
5 - Germany - LOVE IT … not quite sure why though …
6 - France - I know it's a tad tacky and uninspiring, but it's a proper decent summer hit.
7 - Croatia - Just really really good, top 10 I hope.
8 - FYROM - A nice surprise, catchy and definitely not forgettable.
9 - Albania - It's not amazing, but it's not bad either.
10 - Bosnia-Herz. - I just kinda like it, although it could be improved a fair bit.
11 - Armenia - Quite fresh, nothing hugely memorable but probably a grower.
12 - Denmark - Alright, a little cheesy but likeable.
13 - Ireland - Reminds me of the Norwegian song, but comes across a bit nicer.
14 - Sweden - Anna is so sweet .. But I can't help feeling the song is lacking something.
15 - Netherlands - Why? I'm not sure … but this song is immense in every sense of the word.
16 - Greece - Sort of .. Alright, just not particularly great.
17 - Georgia - Kinda dull, but theres something I like about it.
18 - Malta - It's no masterpiece, but it's nice and performed well.
19 - Slovakia - Annoyingly catchy, a little repetitive, but a certain qualifier.
20 - Spain - I think it'll be Spain's best result for a long time, but the performance is a bit strange.
21 - Belarus - Boring as hell … but still, listenable.
22 - Norway - I don’t really like it, it's comes across a tad pretentious also.
23 - Portugal - Nice, but a little bland and dull.
24 - Romania - Probs better in studio than live, but still a tad tacky.
25 - Israel - It's a bit meh.
26 - Poland - I can see why people like it, but it doesn't grab me.
27 - Iceland - I just find it really bland, not my thing.
28 - Finland - Can’t really get my head around it, doesn’t really do it for me.
29 - Switzerland - Leaves me feeling a bit empty.
30 - U.K - hahah OH DEAR! Well I did say it was gonna be bad!
31 - Bulgaria - Really bland, basically.
32 - Slovenia - OK, Seriously!?
33 - Moldova - MAKE IT STOP!
34 - Latvia - Just BAD.
35 - Lithuania - Errm … ok!
36 - Estonia - Yeah, it's just that sort of 'real music' which I'll never understand, sorry!
37 - Serbia - Cipela v2.0
38 - Russia - How? What? WHY?
