My story
GUNEC GULUN
I am an ESC fan since I was four, this is when my country debuted in ESC with that beautiful and underrated song Seninle Bir Dakika...My all time favourite is Ding a Dong (Netherlands 1975) and A-BA-NI-BI (Israel 1978) among many other favourites. Eurovision has always been a ritual in my family every year. My mum used to cook delicious meals and we used to watch the show with the whole family. We went to bed dissapointed and depressed most of the times until televoting. It made us revolt knowing that the voting system depends totally on politics (UK voting for Ireland, Ireland voting for UK, Scandinavian countries voting for each other....). I remember 1986 when my contry got the 9th place with that glowing performance of Halley by Klips ve Onlar. It was like a big festival for us despite knowing that the song was still underrated. And along came Dinle (1997). Now it was something...It sparkled on stage. I will not make any coments on Sertab's performance, whole Europe made the necessary comment. Most embarrasing moment was in 2005 when poor Gulseren got on stage and began yelling and running around, I just wanna erase that moment from my memory.
Now this year maNga is going to represent us. My heart is with them I am expecting them to make history this year. GOOD LUCK BOYS...
