My story

Pau PV

Hola!

My name is Pau, a 21 years old guy living in Valencia, Spain's third most populous city, next to the Mediterranean coast.

My interest towards Eurovision grew up definitely in 2003, after following the contest since 1998. That edition coincided with the revival of Eurovision interest in Spain after 2002, but since 2004 it has decreased considerably, only saved in 2008 by our famous Chikichiki performance in Belgrade.

I speak Castilian (Spanish) and English, but my mother language is Catalan. That's why I consider Andorra as my other representative country in ESC (since I doubt Spain will ever send a song in Catalan, Basque or Galician, the other languages spoken here). Unfortunately, the microstate has been very unlucky in the competition, having never qualified for the Final since its first participation in 2004. This edition, as it was previsible, Andorra won't compete in Oslo, but I hope for its return next year.

Eurovision is a great platform for knowing countries, languages (despite the English-language invasion nowadays), cultures and, of course, music. I study History and Art in University, but I am also musician since I was 5 (I play oboe), so it's not strange at all that I am very interested in ESC.

Here are my favourite songs since 2003:

Rita Guerra - Deixa-me sonhar (Portugal, 2003)
Zjelko Josimovic - Lane moje (Serbia and Montenegro, 2004)
Shiri Maymon - Hasheket shenish'ar (Israel, 2005)
Dima Bilan - Never let you go (Russia, 2006)
Kate Ryan - Je t'adore (Belgium, 2006)
Alenka Gotar - Cvet z juga (Slovenia, 2007)
Magdi Ruzsa - Unsubstantial blues (Hungary, 2007)
Boaz Mauda - Keilo kan (Israel, 2008)
Patricia Kaas - Et s'il fallait le faire (France, 2009)
