My story
Nick R
Hello Eurofans! I'm 22 years old and a big fan of eurovision since 1996 when i watched it for the first time. I love to meet/chat new people so feel free. my msn is nalmaron21@hotmail.com. I am half english half russian and live in London where i was born-i like music of course-films and socialising with my friends
i notice others show their fave songs from each year so i decided to do the same! lol
since 1995 as that was when i started watching my fave each year has been
1995=Israel 2001=Denmark
1996=Portugal 2002=Latvia
1997=Turkey 2003=Slovenia
1998=Israel 2004=Sweden
1999=Estonia 2005=Greece
2000=Russia 2006=Russia
2007=Ukraine
2008=Iceland/Ukraine/Turkey/Sweden lol havent decided yet
Eurovision 2008
Having heard all the songs for 2008 i have to say im not impressed at all-only a very few songs standout as being any good-some countries clearly havent learnt from their past successes-or perhaps they are just sending any crap this year because they know they will get some points regardless.
Best songs in my opinion are
Iceland=i could dance to this definitely if i was out clubbin and it came on! gr8 track and this kind of music is very popular over here right now
Ukraine=i like this-good funky track-i was impressed with Ukraine
Sweden=typical swedish sound but its still good-hope she does well
Russia=i still prefer his 2006 entry but this is still good-i would not be suprised if we end up in Moscow this year-dont forget Russia has 9 ex soviet republic to vote for it this year...
Turkey=am lovin this song more and more each time i hear it, i even put it on my myspace page-all i know is it better qualify!!!
Norway=i like this entry, it sounds nice, hope it does well
Denmark=its a good song but i think it will get left out
Germany=i like this one, its not too harsh on the ears and sounds nice, the words kinda have a meaning to me but thats personal ;-)
other songs that are good/ok
Czech Republic,Poland,Azerbaijan,Slo venia,Belarus,Hungary,Latvia,S witzerland
And the worst...
Belgium,Bosnia-Herzegovina,Estonia,Ireland,Mo ldova,Montenegro,Croatia,Malta ,France
seriously on some of the above...WHAT THE HELL WERE U THINKING!!!!!
to describe them in one word...
Belgium-WTF?!?
Bosnia-Awful
Estonia-stupid
Ireland-fowl
Moldova-zzzzzz
Montenegro-ancient
Croatia-yuk!
Malta-shameful (i like vodka-a lot!-but i dont like this!!)
France-poor
it appears to me the best semi final is the 2nd one and the worst is the 1st.
i will never watch eurovision again if that turkey from ireland wins-not only because the song is so bland and obviously awful but i mean, how is the eurovision supposed to move forward when countries send crap like this? how is it going to become a credible contest?
it will always be a joke if countries send these jokey stupid songs-sometimes they work i'll admit-some examples in the past being Ukraine 2007,Lithuania 2006,Austria 2003-these worked because they were actually funny but there is nothing funny about the songs above-they are all terrible without being funny which is the worst thing-if they did make me laugh i'd be ok with them being in ESC. like Latvia this year-its bad but it makes me laugh and i hope they do well. i like pirates i dressed up as one for a fancy dress party so yeh have to say i like it.
but the others, well it makes you want to ask "seriously, was that the best you could come up with?"
so please europe lets not let BIRD FLU spread across the continent and DONT VOTE FOR THE POULTRY! LOL
i know it will infect the scoreboard slightly but not enough to win-in other words i dont think the ESC's goose is cooked just yet...
These may have been my favourites but for the past few years i have guessed on Eurovision night which song would win and have been right-i got it right in 2002,2003,2004 and 2005. i actually thought Lithuania was going to win (how bad would that have been-i know it was a silly song but it really made me laugh on the nite) so last year i got it wrong-but i did predict that Russia would be 2nd-i did think Finland would be top 5 but wasnt fully sure it would win-not my fave winner by far-sorry finland.
Eurovision 2007
one thing i have noticed with this year is that there is such a variety of different songs and with more countries than ever its so difficult to choose favourites. i also think the majority of the best songs are already in the final which is gr8 in my opinion.
the semi final
well here are the 10 songs i think in my opinion should go through
1-Malta 6-Poland
2-Norway 7-Turkey
3-Slovenia 8-Belarus
4-Portugal 9-Andorra
5-Switzerland 10-Latvia
something tells me i could be wrong about some of these for example Portugal, Norway and Poland and that perhaps Serbia, Macedonia and Denmark will go through instead or even Bulgaria or Israel hmm we shall see
In the meantime my favourite songs this year are already in the final
Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Lithuania, Sweden-i think it will be one of these 5 that we'll end up going to in 2008-more likely to be between Russia and Ukraine-i just dont think Switzerland will get enough but they will be up there too-of course i may well be proved wrong.
this year i will most probably vote for Russia (as i do every year-hehe) and Ukraine, Malta and Greece-i dont know how many votes we get tho-hehehe
My favorite countries
| Sweden | Turkey | ||
| Israel | Greece | ||
| Slovenia | Latvia | ||
| Romania | Russia | ||
| Ukraine | Serbia & Montenegro |
