My story

I first started watching the Eurovision Song Contest in 1990. In fact, it was just sheer luck that i tuned into it at all. I can remember seeing these Women stomp off the stage in a strop and thinking what the hell is all this about and then a few minutes later seeing the Spanish song 'Bandido'. I was captivated by this song and continued to watch the contest. I quickly put in a video cassette in the machine and started recording.

It wasn't until much later on during that night that i figured out what this competition was and when Italy won i was in a rage as i 'hated the song'.

I kept watching the video and when it came to May 1991 i was so excited. I watched the previews and knew instantly that Carola would win. I made up tapes of the contest and used to listen to them constantly, much to the annoyance of my mum and used to sing along with them. This is where my love of languages started.

When Carola won I was so Excited!!!!!!!!!!! and played the song again and again. I still love the song and sing it from begining to end.

The Eurovision Song Contest is one of my favorite peices of Television and i think had i not tuned in that Saturday night i would never have known the magic of Eurovision. Does that sound to corny???? anyhow, here's to another 50 years of Eurovision and one day i would love the Eurovision to come to Scotland and if it did, i'd be the first in the queue to get tickets for the show!!
